Dreams

They tell me I'm a dreamer
There is nothing for me to yearn

They tell me to stop it
That I have everything to learn

But I say to them
To leave it alone
For what harm can dreams do
They merely give hope

They say that is the problem
That hope is fickle and fleeting
It is false and will only keep me dreaming

It's a never ending cycle they say
Simply dreaming
Dreaming
Dreaming

And it never stops
You never stop dreaming
You never get anywhere
You never get what you want

I smile up at them and say
That is the point
Because to dream is not to hope for what you want
It is to believe in what you can do
What you can achieve

There is no false hope in that
There is only insecurity and disbelief

Maybe that is why you, I say
Do not dream

Because to dream is to believe
And you, do not believe

And therefore you do not dream
And therefore you do not live

Because then what is the purpose of life if there is no hope, no goal, no promise
There is nothing then

So maybe that is why you do not feel anything
Why you are nothing and feel like nothing

Do not discourage me to stop my dreams
When all you do is fight with illusions

So tell me, what is worse?

To walk through the clouds of dreams or sink below the earth of illusions?

I believe that answer is up to you.
