This Is What It Takes

The Interview

I am literally shitting bricks. I look at Rylan and he's literally smirking at me. I wish I could just disappear. Ever since our last meeting a few weeks ago I can think of nothing but the ocean. And how amazingly gorgeous he is. I shouldn't be this being these things having these thoughts. He's my bosses son....and also my boss. This is too weird. I look at Cameron who is smiling a weird smile and looking at Rylan. Him and Rylan exchange a few secretive words and I take this time to indulge in his presence. He has on a black short sleeve button up with the sleeves rolled up and black skinny slacks and white vans. His hair was gelled just a little but it looks as though he's been running his has through it all day. I came back to earth when Penelope called for the boys attention.

"Cam?Ry? Shall we start?" She asked with a raised brow. I realize that she's smiling as usual. She has this motherly glow to her and I find it comforting. They both nod and as if on cue they all look at me and smile. I'm shitting bricks once again. I smile as confidently as I can.

"Alright Sierra let's start out by asking what you did before this? " Penelope started off. Her voice is just so soothing that I immediately calm down from my nervousness.

"I worked two jobs to take care of my brother and myself. During the day I was a principals secretary and during the night I was a waitress." She smiled her loving smile and continued with her questions.

"So you have some experience with typing and note take and such?"
"Yes I do." I smiled again.
"How old is your brother?" This time Cameron asked he had a bit of a curious expression on his face. I turned to him and smiled slightly.
"He will be 18 in a few weeks."
"Does he go to school around here?" I chuckle a bit.
"Yes Mr. Dallas he does. He goes to Mountain View. Today is his first day." Cameron laughed a full fledged laugh and shook his head.
"Man the memories of that place. Our parents were always at the school for me and Ry." Rylan and Penelope laughed and then he looked at me with pure sincerity in his eyes.
"Speaking of parents, What do your parents do as a profession if you don't mind my asking?" This time it was Rylan who asked. Just the mention of my parents has me a bit on edge. I want to break down again but then that will lead to questions. Questions I cannot answer. I smiled the best smile I could as I answered.
"They died almost a year ago." They all looked at me with mournful eyes.
"Is that why you're here? Or why you moved here to be exact?" Cameron asked. He had pure curiously on his face.
"Yeah. Yeah umm after I became my brothers guardian we both decided that living in our old town...our old house was suffocating it reminded us of them too much and it hurt. So we decided to move and Rhode Island sounded really great at the time."
"At the time? Are you having second thoughts? About moving here?" Rylan sounded a bit panicked kind of as if he didn't want me to go. I looked t him still smiling my simple smile.
"No I like it here we both do." In his eyes it seemed like a relief washed over him. He smiled slightly and just nodded and said a low okay good.
"Well I think your interview has gone splendidly. I have a few appointments so I will be heading out. Cam and Rylan will be showing the ropes as today will be your first day." I smiled as we all stood and walked out of the room and back to where the front desk is. We all stood in a circle and Penelope looked between Rylan and Cameron.
"You two behave yourselves." She then looked at me with her loving eyes.
" and you dearie are going to accompany me tomorrow at my house. We are having a bit of a block party slash welcoming party for you and your brother. It'll be casual and you MAY NOT bring anything as this is a celebration for you two." She smiled sweetly and before I could say anything she headed off but before she finally left she said I could leave a little early to pick up my brother from school.
Now it was just me Rylan and Cameron.
"So if you will follow me to my office first I also have a few meetings to get too." I was led to Cameron's office and he showed where to put all of his reminders potential buyers and such things.
" if you need anything just text or call me."he said after handing me a paper with his personal number on it. We walked out of his office just as Rylan came out of his, standing just in the doorway next to Cameron's office.Cameron held his hand out and I took it into my hand for a handshake. He turned it around and kissed the back of my hand.
"I really do mean call me if you need anything. Anything at all." He let go of my hand and winked at me. He looked at Rylan and said she's all yours. Rylan just smiled a small smile and nodded.
"Alright well into my office we go." He stepped out of the way to let me inside. Once in he closed the door and went behind his desk while I stayed on the other side. We looked at each other and got lost into each other's eyes. Not being able to handle those sky blue orbs I looked away and blushed.i heard him chuckle which made me look back at him with a shy smile.
"What? What's so funny?" I said as he just looked at me with his simple small smile. He shook his head then looked down and at me again.
"You're just cute when you blush is all." I blushed even more.
"Well my rules are the same as Cameron this is where my reminders go, my missed calls go here, my potentials go and here is my personal number if you can't reach me on my business phone." He handed me another paperwork his number on it and smiled.
"Did my mom already show you everything else?" I nodded afraid to talk at the moment. I smiled a sincere smile but shy smile at me.
"Well do you have any other questions for me?" He said as he walked up to me stopping only one foot away from me.I looked at him with a fake contemplating face, tapping my chin as took that extra step closer to him. I looked up at him with squinting eyes biting my lip then finally replying.
"Where can I get the best flatbread pizza around here? I kinda forgot to eat breakfast." He smirked and grabbed my waist. Before I knew I the turned me around and his mouth was by my ear with his front pressing against my back.
"There's this amazing place right down the street I can take you too." I smiled a flirty smile.
"Lead the way cowboy." He chuckled and grabbed my hand baler opening the door and dragging me out of the office and down the street to this small pizza place. When we got inside he let go of my hand for the first time since he grabbed it and we stood in line. I looked around and seen a bunch of girls around my age ogling Rylan and he seemed to be unshaded as he was just leaning against the wall looking a at the menu. He looked back at me and put his hand at the small of my back.Slightly pushing me forward.

"What would you like to eat Ms.Langley?" He said smirking at me. I just shook my head with my face scrunched up.
"Eww that makes me sound old anything but that." He chuckled and agreed with me.
"Well Erra what would you like to eat?" No one has ever called me Erra just mostly Si or SiSi. I love the way it sounds coming from him. It sounds natural. I smiled a shy smile and looked at the menu. I seen my favorite and knew instantly what I wanted.
"Ahhhhh the spinach and feta flatbread with garlic!" When we were next in line I ordered but then realized I left my purse in the office. Before I said anything Rylan paid for it all.
"It's alright, I can't make a pretty lady pay on the first date." I walked to our table against the window with my mouth open. He just smirked at me.
"I'm guessing I'll have to pay for the second date then?" He laughed?
"Pft of course but next time we're getting frozen yogurt. God I love frozen yogurt."
"Me too!" We made small talk for 15 minutes about everything. I feel like I've known Rylan for centuries but it's only been a few hours. When our pizza came out we were talking about our obsession with Batman and arguing over who's the best villain he's ever battled. I stay with the classic side of The Joker yet he insists its all about the Riddler.

"Here you go. Hey Ry. You look really good today." I looked up to see a girl no older than 18 smile flirtingly at Rylan. Once again he just glances at her and puts all of his attention on me.
"Hey Ashley. Thanks, but anyways come on riddler is the best I mean he's so sneaky the way he never actually does the crimes himself. He's just the brains behind it all." Feeling ignored she just left with a glare towards me. What'd I do? We continued our conversation ate all of the pizza and we're back at the office by 3. I grabbed my stuff to head out and so did Rylan. He had his keys and some folders.
" I have a few deals to make and a few checkups. I'll walk you out." We walked out and he locked up the office again. We w allied silently to my car. I unlocked it and put all of my things inside and turned to face Rylan. I didn't notice how close he was until I turned around and came face to face with him. His breath fanned my face and I was tempted to kiss him. He grabbed my hips again and pulled me closer before our lips could touch I moved to his cheek out of pure nervousness. When we pulled away he looked upset and sad. In a moment of weakness I grabbed his shirt and caught him by surprise by kissing his lips. God they're so soft. We lingered there for a while until he licked my bottom lip and I pulled away. His face was a bit pouty and it was the cutest thing ever. I pushed his chest playfully and took a baby step back. I smirked atheism as he gave me a confused smile.
" I can't give it all up on the first date. Gotta leave you coming back for more." I winked at Hume and got in the car. He held onto the door I started the car.
" you're very interesting." I looked up at him to see a slight smile on his face still. I smiled back.
"So are you." He chuckled a little.
"I'll see you tomorrow Erra." With that he closed the door carefully not to hurt me and walked to his blue Land Rover.i shook my head and began my happy journey to my brothers school listening to Hold My Hand by Jesse Glynne.
Ugh this is going to be an interesting town to be in.
