And that which fell among the thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

We want to make sure that once we hear the word of the LORD that we act upon it. Any root of bitterness cherished towards another, any self-seeking, any harsh judgments indulged in, any slowness in obeying the voice of the LORD, and any doubtful habits on surroundings, any one of these will effectually cripple and paralyze our spiritual life.
Make sure when you hear the word to act upon it.
