I Love You

I woke up to the buzzing of my phone.
I groggily rolled over and grabbed the cold hard surface of my phone bringing it to my ear, not even bothering to check who it was.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Shani!" It was Shawn, my boyfriend. "You have to come here right now!"
"Shawn it's-" I rolled over to check the time. "10:00. Yeah, okay. Why?"
"I just really have to show you something."
"Okay,...." I trailed off as he abruptly hung up the phone.
I threw the phone to the side on my bed and groaned as I forced myself to get up.
I quickly took a shower and put just shorts and a t shirt on. I did light makeup since it was a summer day and it wouldn't make much of a difference in the sweltering heat anyways.
I jogged downstairs greeting my mother and father.
"What are you doing today?" They asked.
"Shawn wants to show me something." I explained.
"Okay be careful." My mother said. "You don't know what you're doing yet?"
"No." I said. "He didn't tell me."
"Okay well let me know." She said.
I groaned as I grabbed a granola bar from the cabinet. I also grabbed a water and my keys before heading out the door.
I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed Shawn's number.
"Where exactly am I going?" I asked.
"Well hello to you too." He said.
"That's doesn't answer my question,.." I trailed off.
"My house." He responded quickly before hanging up.
I started the engine and drove to his house.
-Skip Car Drive-
I pulled up in Shawn's driveway.
"Shani!" He exclaimed running to my car sat before I had even parked. "Thank god!"
I opened the door and Shawn grabbed my hand.
"Close your eyes." He commanded.
I did as he said and he grabbed my hands leading me somewhere.
"Okay!" He exclaimed. "Open!"
I opened my eyes.
In front of me was parked a Jeep Wrangler.
I opened my mouth and walked over to the car.
I reached out to touch it and Shawn scolded me.
"Hey hey! No hands on my baby!"
I placed my hands on my hips and turned to face him, eyebrows raised.
"You of course." He said coming closer.
"You're my baby." He finished.
"Mhm." I said looking him up and down.
He placed his hands on my waist and leaned in to whisper in my ear.
"Only I can touch you." He whispered.
I giggled as he pressed his lips to mine.
"Now can we please go driving?" He pouted.
I nodded my head up and down.
He got in the drivers seat and I got in the passenger seat.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"For a drive." He responded.
"Really?" I asked turning to face him. "I thought we were going running."
He chuckled shaking his head and starting the engine.
-30 Minutes Later-
"Shawn-" I began.
He turned to face me.
I pointed to the circle (I spent like forever trying to figure out what the heck to call it.) that read the amount of gas left in the car.
"You're going to run out of gas."
"Yeah, yeah."
He pulled into the nearest gas station and got out.
I followed.
"Shawn,..." I mumbled batting my eyelashes as I turned to him.
"Yeah babe?" He asked sliding his debit card through the machine.
"Do you have a dollar I can borrow?" I asked.
He handed me a five after fumbling in his pockets.
"Keep the change." He winked.
I went inside and grabbed a bag of my favorite candy and bringing back the four dollars in change.
As I neared the car I saw that he was already in the drivers seat.
"No!" I yelled. People getting their gas stopped to look at me.
"No Shawn!" I pouted ignoring everyone.
"Babe." He whispered. "People are staring."
"What do you care?" I asked.
"I don't." He blushed.
"Well I want to drive." I pouted.
"Sorry babe no can do."
"Okay calling me babe in every sentence you say is not going to make this okay." I pouted. I leaned in for a kiss and was met with his sweet soft lips.
He smirked against my lips.
"I'll get in the passenger seat." I said.
I got in the passenger seat and he began to drive.
I asked him where we were going but he simply ignored me and kept driving.
When we arrived it was this big cliff.
It overlooked a beautiful stream with Pink Flowers.
"It's beautiful." I whispered.
"I know something or rather someone more beautiful." He smiled. He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
I smiled.
"And who's that?" I asked even though I was pretty sure I knew.
"You." He said simply pulling me closer to him.
"You're so great." I said turning around to face him.
"So are you." He said.
"No like really I never thought I would meet a guy that I like so much let alone that I love-"
"Wait." He cut me off. "You love me?"
I had never said that to him before. He had never said that to me.
"No." I said looking down.
"Yes you do! You love me!" He exclaimed.
"So you're happy?" I said looking up, hope lacing my voice.
"No I'm mad." He said.
"Really?" I pouted.
"Yeah." He nodded. "I'm mad I didn't get to say it first."
I smiled as relief washed over me.
He pulled me in for a kiss and then pulled away.
"I love you too." He mumbled before crashing his lips to mine once more.
Okay so this came out crappy. I'm sorry that 1: it's so crappy and 2: that it took so long.
