Too High

As Ground Bloomer woke up, she tasted something familiar in her mouth.  As she slowly spit out the warm, red gooey substance, she felt a hand on her arm. Still choking on her own blood, Ground was pulled up from the seat. Her best "friend" Edwina Castro grabbed her be the arm and hollered in her ears,

"AYE YOU ALIVE! I AINT THOUGHT YOU BE ALIVE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED EARLIER"

Still choking on her own bloody saliva, Ground managed to croak out a few words, cussing Edwina for drugging her again.  Edwina laughed the comments off, but this time Ground wasn't going to settle for the same bullshit that went on for the past year.

Maybe it was the filthy stuff Edwina gave her, or maybe it was something else but the time Ground wasn't gonna take any more of Edwina's games.  She got up and did the most savage thing she think of.  Something that Edwina would remember her for, something that would show Edwina what she was capable of.

Ground stumbled up to Edwina, blood still running out of her mouth.  Thr first thing she thought of was punching Edwina in her big ugly nose but this is where things went terribly wrong.  A few seats in front, Patrick squealed his mating call for some reason.  The loud, high pitched sound carried through the bus, shattering windows and surprised Ground. Off balance, the force in Grounds punch went down and she ended up skimming the edge of Edwina's knee caps.

The outcome of the action wasn't as Ground planned, but it was strangely satisfying.  Edwina shrieked, an ear piercing, terrible noise; the sound of a dying animal mixed with a lunatic. Soon after, she followed up by moaning,

"Y-you... You touched my knees... Stay away from me you monster,"

Edwina slowly crawled through the aisle, and got off the bus at her stop.  That was the last time Ground saw Edwina but there was no time to celebrate.  Zaifoot, the biggest, buffest eight grader sat a few seats away.  Edwina was supposed to be going to his house after the bus ride but due to Ground, she couldn't go over anymore.  Zaifoot realized this quickly and knew the one person to blame for it. He picked himself off his seat, and walked over to Ground.

Ground, still half choking on the blood saw an unfriendly Zaifoot walk over to her.  She knew what was going to happen and it wasn't good.  She tried to stumble past Zaifoot but a hand the size of a baseball glove grabbed her by the neck and stopped her from any attempt to escape.  In a half hearted attempt to save herself, Ground spit out all the blood she had in her mouth at Zaifoot face.  He let go of Ground, clutching his face screaming,

"MA FACE, MA FACE!"

Ground hit the floor of the bus on her shoulder, spun around and started hobbling towards the front exit.  She pushed the bus driver out of the seat, pressed the "Open Door" button, and jumped off a bus moving at twenty miles per hour. This wasn't the best choice, she crashed to the ground on the same shoulder she was dropped on.  A sharp pain instantly went up her body and she blacked out.

It was dusk when Ground woke up again.  She checked her pockets, phone still in there but she knew she was missing something.  Her pockets didn't feel right.  She checked again and knew something terrible happened. Her bag of Mott's Apple Slices were gone, but there was a note in her hand when it came out her pocket.  Ground rubbed her eyes and made out the letters scratched on the paper,

Never touch anyone else's knees ever again.  You'll regret it
