Imogen Jackson was, as her mother loved to recount, "born on a dark and stormy night". But, as soon as the midwife screamed "PUSH!" for the last time, the clouds parted. Imogen never believed a word of it, though she would retell that same story to her own children when the time came. Later on, her children would recount that story as the story of their children's birth, and their children the same, etc.
