Building an altar is an important part of many rituals and spells. Yours should be set up on a wooden table, 1-3 feet tall and should be put in a clean area free of clutter. Everyone's altar is different and should be adjusted depending on the nature of the practice you intend to incorporate it into. An altar should include all of the following:
• Candles (color depending on the nature of your practice. See next chapter for more information)
• Sigils (optional. See previous chapter for more information)
• Religious symbols if any (male religious symbols on the right, female on the left)
• Plant life that is significant to you, if any
• personal items that are special to you
Stay away from synthetic materials if at all possible.
