We meet at the park at 1:30 and sit down at a picnic bench.

"I should tell you..."

"I should tell you about Ben, because if I don't then we can never know each other properly" I say

"You don't have to" she says worriedly

"No I should it's only right" I say.

I tell her about Ben and what happened. After I finish telling her, I look away and sigh. She comes around my side of the picnic bench, sits down and hugs me tight.

"I know that you saved me from that forest fire Mia, and you've been through a lot that I didn't even know about!" She says sobbing.

I put my head on her shoulder and cry a little too.

"Mia, I love you."

"I'm not joking y'know I really do. You're caring amazing and beautiful. There's none I'd rather be with than you. I know you're broken inside but we can fix it. Together." She says looking down.

She sits up and looks into my eyes. A tear falls down her newly scarred cheek and I wipe it away carefully, crying and laughing.

"I love you too." I say choking on my words
