I stare at Cassie, while she stares back at me. Continuously blinking, with her mouth hanging to the point I could see her tonsils. Not a good look but amusing. As soon as she came through my bedroom door, I didn't let a second go by I just spilled everything. Starting from how he said he loved me, then reversed my way back to how I got there in the first place. And now to think of it, how he didn't complete my carnival day, but I guess the outcome was alright.

My heart beat was still racing, it was like the adrenaline had finally kicked in after talking about it to Cassie. Nathaniel James Taylor said he loves me. The popular senior boy said he loves me. Wow.

Cassie hadn't said a word since I told her everything, but her gasps got bigger and bigger at every word. To the point I thought she would collapse from holding her breath in for that long. It had just turned 10:20PM.

Cassie let's out a muffled shriek, which was most probably meant to be quieter than she hoped for, but it was louder than I imaged, followed by an "OH MY GOD."

Adam didn't wait a second to run in to the room like there was a fire, forgetting the fact we are girls and you are meant to knock when entering our rooms. "WHAT'S GOING ON? ARE YOUS OKAY?" Adam yells, his face alarmed.

We both freeze. I look at him with the -why-are-you-here- "nothing, Adam gosh." I roll my eyes, gesturing him to leave. He looks back at me like he wanted to kill me.

"Don't scream if something actually happens then." He says rolling his eyes, in an angry child-like tone, leaving the room.

Cassie starts giggling. "Wow he is so cute."

I ignore her, "Erm have you forgot? Nathaniel said he loves me! Attention back at me please." I say shaking her. Her eyes go wide once again.

"I can't believe he said that! I mean I always knew he liked you, but wow he told you? Why can't I have him? He seems so totally perfect! What cute things he said to you! Aw!" She says in a fast pace, she must have been storing everything in while I told her everything.

"AND I cannot believe you was so rude to him. You guys are so perfect together in an odd way, because you're pretty odd and he is completely odd." She says, not really talking to me but herself. I look at her with a straight face.

"I'm still in shock, wait just let me calm down." Cassie turns her gaze from me to the door. I stare at her while she calms down, with an inpatient straight face. For what felt like hours, but probably seconds.

"Right, he is aware you can't date him, because you can't date in your religion?"

"Duh. I mean obviously he knows. I'm sure he knows, do you think he knows?" I say, feeling unsure with myself.

"I don't know, but you see him tomorrow, so brace yourself." Cassie says with an almost frown. Emphasising she felt sorry for me.

I wake up the next morning with a pounding head ache. I slept for a good hour, I managed to not sleep so I didn't have to even wake up for morning prayer, but I did have to wake up for school. All I could think about was Nathaniel, and the words he said to me. And how much it meant to me, and how much I wanted to say it back to him.

Cassie's mom picked her up late last night, she told me should would meet me early in the morning so I didn't have to walk to school alone. It was 8:45, and the doorbell rang and it could only be one person - Cassie. I open the door, greeting her while munching on my toast, she seemed to be doing the same only her toast was almost finished.

"How'd you sleep?" Cassie asks.

"Didn't." I say smiling, but not a happy smile. The streets where empty, not surprisingly though, we left pretty early. Usually people left five minutes before school and run to school. It was warm today, lately it had been only twenty degrees, but today it was almost forty degrees thank god.
