twenty one ➳ can't move on
Echo was sat on her bed in the motel room, her finger lingering over her phone, Damon's phone number on the screen before she sighed and locked her phone, deciding it was best not to. She needed to move on, if she would never go back home.
She missed him. She missed their feuding, laughs, cries, flirting and she missed him. She missed the way they would fight when the other would lie to the other, when he would stare at her as she cleaned her weapons, and their love for their vehicles. She loved Damon Salvatore.
She missed her family. Pulling her siblings in for comforting hugs, teasing them and telling them cheesy jokes. She missed how she would threaten them if they tried anything that even seemed the tiniest bit dangerous.
But most of all, she missed Caroline Forbes. Her ex-enemy, best friend and sister. She missed the perky blonde vampire who would force Echo to stores where they would wear and buy dresses while complimenting one another. She missed saving her best friend and her best friend fussing over the minor injuries on her. She missed how they would have random sleepovers for moral support, or fun or even if they were just bored.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, causing her to see that her phone was open and her best friend's name and number were on the screen. She quickly locked her phone before walking over to the door and opening it to see the hybrid standing on the other side.
"What are you doing here?" Echo asked the hybrid, not opening the door for him to enter.
"I thought we were done with the callous attitude." Klaus stated with a smile.
Echo shrugged her shoulders, "I recognized the errors of my ways. You hurt and killed a lot of people I care about so you're still the egotistical hybrid half breed asshole."
"Well, think what you want but those thoughts will be long gone in a few months. Pack your bags, we found another lead." Klaus said before walking away.
"I call shotgun!" Echo called out before shutting her door and began to pack her bags.

A blonde haired woman walked outside a house, calling out to her dog, "Rudy!" She let out a whistle, "Rudy. Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you."
She bent down and picked up a toy. When she turned around Echo and Klaus suddenly appeared in front of her, causing her to gasp in shock. Klaus had his arm wrapped around her waist lovingly while Echo had a fake smile plastered across her face.
"I'm so sorry, we didn't mean to scare you." Klaus apologized with a southern accent.
"Can I help you?" The woman asked Klaus and Echo suspiciously.
"Yeah, my wife and I's car ran out of gas a couple of miles back. Eh, I feel like we've been walking forever yours is the first house I come to so I was just hoping we could use your phone?" Klaus continued as Echo turned to look at him with a tight smile when he said that she was his wife.
"Don't you have a cell phone?"
"Huh, yeah..." Echo chuckled, putting her hands in her pockets, "My husband here threw mine out the window because apparently "I wasn't paying attention to him" and him being him, forget his at home. I mean, I know you have your suspicions like everyone else, but do we look like a couple of serial killers?"
The woman let out a sigh, "Sure."
"So, we can come in?" Klaus asked the woman.
"No, I'll get the phone and I'll bring it out to you." She answered rudely, causing Echo's eye to twitch in annoyance.
