When I was little, my mom used to sit me in her lap and give me life lessons-really cheesy ones. They usually would go along the lines of "never give up" or "have faith."

One day, as I watching the rain trickle down my window, she canoodled me and whispered into my ear, "Life is all about choices, sweet cheeks, and no one else can ever make your choices for you. So, choose wisely." From that day on, whenever I watched the rain stream across a window, I thought about people and all the different choices they can make. For example, I thought about people who chose to focus always on the bad things in life and people who chose to turn their unhappiness into happiness. People who chose to go after their dreams under no circumstance and people who chose to make up excuses. Then, I would think about those who either chose to stay and fight or to leave when faced with a problem.

I knew he wanted to stay because he loved me- even in my worst moments I never doubted that. Still, he left because he loved somebody else first.

Me, I wanted to leave because I hated him for letting me love him. Still, I stayed because I loved him with everything I had in me.

I am sorry mom! I am sorry that I didn't choose wisely.
