Chapter 11: Use To Things

~Few Days Later~

Ever since George died Mrs Everdeen has been in a depressed state leaving Katniss, Clove and Prim to cleaning the house and doing farm work, Gale comes once a week but he needs to look after his farm, children and wife so usually it's just Katniss and the girls, I've been taking Katniss out three times a week to try and get her mind off of things it works, she smiles and laughs, she tells me how her mother didn't listen to her father when he said to look after them but she's not and I just tell her what I think, that it's hard mostly for her mother, she just lost her other half and I told her I'd be the same if that ever happened to her and it made her see that her mother was going through the worst.

Katniss and I just stand in the barn, making out, her hands all over me then ever before, it's crazy we've never kissed this roughly before I start kissing down her neck, hearing her moans and just as I go to peel off her bra strap I hear someone clear their throat, we jump apart and see Gale, shit! He technically saw Katniss and I leading on the having sex

"Follow me Peeta" he growls and I look to Katniss, crop top sleeve and bra strap down her shoulder, I turn and walk behind Gale till we're in the field, he turns around slowly anger in his face

"You, almost had sex with her" he growls

"I know but I couldn't stop her" I admit and he glares at me

"Have you got a problem with me? If you do say it to my face" I confidently say, he doesn't scare me anymore, Katniss is nineteen now, she's not a child

"Yeah, I got a problem, I know kids like you, hunt around for girls like my sister" he spits

"Well I'm not that kind of guy" I state and he snorts

"Yeah, right" he says

"Look I love your sister, I make her smile and laugh, I make her happy, take her pain away, can't you see that" I say

"I want you to stay away from Katniss from now on" he warns

"No, she's my girlfriend and you really think she'll like you if you do this to her?" I reply and he just sighs

"Okay, it's just with my father being dead and my mother depressed state it's making me... Cranky" he says and I give a sad smile

"You don't need to worry Katniss and Clove are in Cato and I's hands, we won't force them into anything they don't want to" I say and walk off, that didn't end the way I expected, I guess we all have to get use to things around her, everything is changing and we can't stop that.
