Chapter 9: Hindsight

*~Yuki's POV~*

"But... Why would you say no?" Sasuke shed a tear. I scoffed.

"You killed my best friend. I hate you, Uchiha Sasuke!" And with that I ran off, making sure that Sasuke didn't follow my by using my Teleportation Jutsu... Just like Shisui had taught me.

••FLASHBACK••

"Alright, Yuki-san, this might be a little difficult," Shisui smiled warmly at me. I smiled my childish smile back at him.

"Got it, Shi-san!" I said in my childish voice.

I was 9.

"Okay, remember the hand signs?" Shisui pat my shoulder. I smiled.

"Yep!" I quickly performed the hand signs for the Teleportation Jutsu. I guess I disappeared, because Shisui looked around.

"Yuki-san!" He yelled. I giggled.

"I'm right here, Shi-san!" I jump down from the branch of the tree I had gone to. Shisui turned and laughed.

"You little devil! There you are," Shisui messes my hair up. I look up at him, one eye open and smiling.

I thought about Shisui being my unknown brother for a long time.

It couldn't happen. He was too good to be the brother of an amateur.

When Itachi came to me one day all gloomy, I asked him what was wrong. He told me Danzō took out one of Shisui's Sharingan eyes. I gasped and shed a few tears. Then Itachi said how Shisui gave his life for Itachi and I, telling Itachi to protect me and be my best friend. That's when I began bawling, yelling, "No! It's a lie! Shi-san is playing a prank!" And I ran off.

That's when it hit me.

I skid to a stop. My heavy breathing turned to internal pain. I held my face in my hands.

I was so blind... That Itachi wasn't my best friend... He was only a pedophile...

And when I met Sasuke after all those years with no memory of him... It wasn't worth anything.

There's only one Uchiha meant for me in this life, and past death as well...
