Nick's P.O.V. - unedited and special chapter

Running through the woods is usually something I consider fun... Unless of course you have been frantically been searching for your mate, and the sun is almost setting.

I was running along side Jayden when a strong scent of blood hit my nose. We both immediately ran to the scent and it led us to a plush, green opening. The trees opened up and looked like it swallowed up the green grass. There were little wild flowers in the grass, but I could see where blood stained the grass.

"Alyssa?!" Jayden said, running to the girl on the opposite side of the clearing. She was scraped up and blood caked her light brown hair but she was breathing. She had a grisly cut above her eyebrow which most likely lead to the blood everywhere.

"Alyssa! Open your eyes for me, love. Or do something that tells me you are alright." Jayden had shifted to human form and he held his injured mate close to his chest.

"Jake..." She mumbled. "he... he"

"Who? Sweetie, I don't who 'he' is." Jayden said, a little at ease because Alyssa had spoken. But that is when I noticed...

"Madelyn... Alyssa where is Madelyn?" I know that here was worry in my voice. Where could she be?

"Jake, he.. He was here, in the woods. He said he could help us but there were other wolves... rogues." Alyssa sobbed, tears spilling from her eyes.

"I don't understand sweetie, who is Jake and where is Maddy and the Beta?" Jayden asked sympathetically.

"He took her!"She cried. "That traitor! The Beta we never found...."

"It's gonna be okay sweetie. We are gonna find them, it'll be alright. But who is Jake?"

"Can we stop with the questions? I need to find her Jay!" I cut in, my worry and anxiety getting the best of me.

"What if she knows something, I want to find her too man but we need answers first. We don't know anything about this guy and the last thing I need to get stuck in a situation we can't handle." Jayden told me, trying to calm me down and give me reassurance that everything will be fine.

"They went towards the river and Jake is my ex. I don't know why but he seemed to be working with the rogues. He didn't fight them, and for some reason, they only took her and not me.... I am really worried about her Jay, what if they hurt her?" Alyssa choked out, tears streaking her cheeks.

With that information my wolf took hold of me and i ran. My instincts took over and I howled in pain. I needed to find my mate. I wanted her safe and with me.

The sun was down and the moon was now shining bright with the stars accompanying it. Jayden caught up to me a few miles back.

"Where's Alyssa?" I asked Jay without stopping. My wolf was growing tired and pretty soon if we didn't find Maddy I was going to have to shift back and rest.

"I brought her home." He said. "She didn't want to go home but she was pretty beat up and she needed rest. I didn't want to leave her but I have to help find Maddy. I left after she fell asleep." He finished.

"Okay," I said sorrowfully at the thought of his mate being safe and mine out somewhere kidnapped by an evil ex-boyfriend and some rogues.

I felt like i was going to die. My mate was in trouble and with someone else and not me. I felt like I could feel her heart beat with my own. Our hearts as one, but the sad part is no one, well Madelyn wasn't actually here. "AHHH!" I heard the most horrified scream ever and I smelt her! My mate! Watermelon and peach, I could spot the scent anywhere.

"Madelyn where are you" there was no answer not except my heavy breathing.

I was lost in my deep thoughts, I pictured every image of Maddy I could remember. Her face when her father told her she was no longer his daughter. She was the most beautiful wolf and an even more beautiful girl. She was gorgeous both inside and out. The little bit that I had gotten to know her I could picture her face clearly in my mind. My heart was pounding out of my chest now and my blood was boiling. I had to find her, if she was hurt I couldn't live with myself. I ran faster to her scent. Another blood curdling scream rang out.

"Faster Jay! We need to find her!" I screamed as if ran faster to find Maddy.

"Nick!NICK!" I heard her voice, it was strained form her screaming.

"Maddy I'm coming!" I yelled back to her. But now that I think about it, that was a bad idea. Because now I am officially known. So as I burst through the underbrush and trees with Jayden trailing behind, it was of no shock to me that someone grabbed me. However, Jayden still having the element of surprise crashed through the trees right into the man who that had me, breaking his grip.

I guess this sort of came as a surprise because these rogues only seemed prepared for one wolf and so they sort of stood in shock as I ran over to Maddy who was crouched on the floor, her wrists tied behind her.

"Nick!" She siad, I ripped the rope that held her to the tree. Then something hit me from behind. I turned to see a guy, no older than me with a knife in his hand. I could practically smell the wolfsbane that saturated the metal blade. The scent burned my lungs, but my question is how was the wolfsbane not hurting. Unless he wasn't wolf.

And that's when it hit me. He was a hunter, so that meant that the rogues and hunters joined up. I let out a snarl then leaped up and tore at the hunter's neck. My jaw clamped at his skin and the flesh tore away. The taste of blood hastily filled my mouth. After the hunter had crumpled to the floor in a heap I spit the blood from my mouth. It left a coppery taste in my mouth that was not very pleasing.

"Nick!" I turned to see a man holding Maddy, a knife poised at her neck.

"I'm coming baby!" I ran to her and then the man shifted and met me mid-stride.

"Jake, don't hurt him, we used to be friends... What happened to you?" Maddy asked.

And just as Jake turned ot answer i grabbed his neck and pushed on a very sensitive pressure point. He fell to the floor, out like a light.

"Is he dead?" Maddy questioned.

"No, I hit a pressure point. But we should go before he wakes up." I answered.

"Good idea." Jayden came up behind me. I turned to see no one else. The hunters and rogues were gone, all except Jake who lay passed out on the floor.

"Are you okay?" I asked Maddy, rubbing our noses together in an eskimo kiss.

"Yes... I'm fine just some scratches, but I feel them healing already, a little ointment and I should be fine." She told me, her warm breathe cascaded across my cheek, sending shivers up my spine.

"Okay, we need to get you home, and we can talk more tomorrow. For now let's just focus on getting her back to the pack house, safe." Jayden said, and so that is exactly what we did.

When we got to the Gold Moon pack house Maddy's father was there safe. I wanted to rip out his throat. Putting his daughter through all that just to come home to find him safe and her hurt. Apparently a little after Jay left he returned. He was a dick, inside and out. But we left like the Alpha asked, we were to return in the morning for a discussion. He didn't seem to happy....

A/N: So I hope this was a good chapter. I wanted it to be cute how Nick was very lost without his mate, although they don't truly know one another. But this chapter just goes to show how fast true mates feel for one another. It is an immediate bond that is like no other and that is what I went for.
