"So if you don't wanna be alone and I just want a heart to call my own. You just have to say the word, And I'm there" - Hey Violet - I'm There

Michael sat outside, puffing out cold air.
It was getting icy outside but he didn't care because that just let him be alone.

"Did you throw your lunch away yet?" Luke asked as he suddenly sat beside Michael.

"Um n-not yet." Michael picked at his jacket sleeves.

"You're not gonna eat it?" He asked.
Michael shook his head sadly.

"Even if you ate it with me?" He asked again.

"I-I- don't know." Michael said honestly.

"Get your bag of chips." He instructed and Michael picked them out, handing them to the blonde.

Luke ripped the packet open and took one, chewing it slowly.

"Want one?" He asked, the sound muffled through the food.

Michael giggled. "No thankyou."

"You sure Coz mmmmm they're amazing. Michael I guess you'll never know how great this bag of chips was because they're all mine." Luke taunted making Michael break out into a smile.

He slowly reached his hand in the packet, picking one up. He ate it slowly, covering his mouth slightly as Luke watched him.

"Happy?" He asked when he was done.

"Ecstatic." Luke replied and wrapped an arm around his shoulder pulling the boy in close to warm them up in the cold.

Luke finished the crisps since he couldn't get Michael to have anymore and told him he'd drive him home.

After school on the drive home, Michael was quiet. Luke had gotten him to eat. It didn't matter to Michael that it was only one crisp, it was the principal of it.

He couldn't let Luke change him because he'd get fat if he did that.

"Everything alright?" Luke asked as he looked over at the boy in the passenger seat.

Michael nodded quickly. Too quickly.

"Are you sure?" Luke raised an eyebrow. Looking closer he saw Michaels eyes glassy with tears and he didn't hesitate to pull over and park.

"What are you doing?" Michael sniffled.

"I'm not moving till you tell me," Luke insisted.

"Nothing's wrong. Take me home."
"No."

"No?" Michael scoffed.
"No."

"Fine." Michael said and grabbed his bag, swinging the car door open. He began to walk off when Luke opened his door and ran after him. He caught him by the arm and spun him round.

"What Luke?" Michael said angrily as the tears started to roll down his cheeks.

"Why do you do this to yourself?" Luke asked.

"Do what?" Michael played innocent.

"You hate yourself Mikey and I don't know why, you're beautiful. I don't know who the hell told you you weren't but they didn't know what they were talking about."

Michaels mind flashed back to when him and his ex boyfriend Kellin were at his place.

FLASHBACK

"Baby?" Michael asked with a small smile.

Kellin was lay on the couch with a bag of Doritos.
"What the fuck do you want Michael?"

"I-I thought we could go out for d-dinner maybe?" The small boy asked hopefully.

Kellin sat up and patted the spot next to him, Michael sat down.

"Babe, you know I love you and everything, but maybe dinner isn't a good idea for you. You're getting a bit... Chubby, you know?"

"W-what?" Michael frowned.

"I hate to say it, but yeah. So let's stay in, maybe you can go make a salad or something instead."

Michael looked at the ground with a sad and slightly shocked expression but he believed everything Kellin said.
Kellin reached over and tilted his head up.

"No hard feelings sweetheart." He smirked and lay back down to watch TV.
Michael stood up and went to the bathroom, crying his eyes out. Kellin could never know though, because even though Michael loved him, he was pretty sure that's what Kellin was after.

END OF FLASHBACK

"You don't know what you're talking about. I'm disgusting!" Michael dropped his charade just for a moment to have his outburst.

"Michael..." Luke frowned at the boy, who eventually broke into sobs. "You're gorgeous. How could you ever... Why would you ever think that way?"

"It's true." Michael shrugged, wiping his tears with his sleeve.

Before he could do anything, Luke's lips were pressed against his in a slow, romantic kiss.

Michael melted into Luke's touch, from his arms wrapped around his body to his lip ring. He felt safer.
When they pulled away it wasn't like in the stories, they didn't stare lovingly into each other's eyes.

Instead Michael was still crying, and Luke was still holding him telling him it would all be okay.
"You shouldn't hurt yourself anymore."

Soon they got back in the car and michael was almost completely calmed down. Luke lit a cigarette and took a puff of it out the window as they drove.

Michael leaned over and snatched the stick from him, throwing it into the traffic.

"Why did you do that?" Luke asked, annoyed.

"You shouldn't hurt yourself anymore." He sniffled, clutching a tissue in his small hands.

Michael watched Luke's lips twitch into a sad smile and he almost smiled himself.

Almost.

When they pulled into Michaels driveway the two boys got out and Michael stood facing Luke, not sure what to do or say after what happened.

"I'm sorry." Luke looked at the floor, talking about the kiss.

He expected a lecture but instead he felt Michaels small arms wrap around him in a warm hug.

He placed his hands on Michaels back slowly and smiled, Michael nuzzling his head into his chest.

"Thankyou." He muttered.

"It's okay." Luke replied, looking down at him.

Michael waved him goodbye and went inside.

He wanted Michael more and more by the day.
