I awoke that night in almost pitch black, the moon providing little light, tonight. We were still in Dean’s room, having fallen asleep afterward….and wow!!! I smiled to him and gave him a kiss on his soft lips, reveling in the fact that I had just had the best sex of my life. I looked to the clock next to me, seeing that it was 12:30 AM. I got dressed quickly, but quietly, remembering the instructions that Savlian had given me. I wrote a quick note, using the moonlight, and set it beside Dean. I slipped on my boots, darting to my room to grab all of my weapons, and crept out of the castle. There was no specific time for me to be there, but the undead usually come out around the peak of the night…between 12-3 AM. I had plenty of time to get where I was headed- the graveyard that started it all. I did find that weird, but I couldn’t make any connections as I got my mind focused on the task at hand. I stopped abruptly once I was in front of the black iron gates, my eyes wide. Now this, was weird!!! The graveyard was full of demons, and when I say full, I mean jam packed. Like someone had literally took the time to set each and every one of them here. “A few ghouls??” I mocked Savlian’s words, shaking my head. My trademark mischievous grin played across my lips a moment later, and I swung Babylon from my back, resting her on my shoulder. “Well, bring it on!” I shouted, shooting the lock for the gates. The demons and zombies charged toward me, and I raised Babylon defensively. I shot at the zombies closest to me until a demon flew forward, and I quickly sliced off its head and watched it burn to ash before me. This was just what I needed. I kicked, shot, punched, tripped, sliced, stabbed and jumped off of countless demons, using clever trick moves and techniques I had taught myself and picked up over the years. In no time, I had half of the graveyard cleared, and I shook the beads of sweat that were running down my face. Impressed with my time and skill, I began using my magic to kill them sometimes cursing Babylon to pack one hell of a punch. Suddenly, the last few demons in front of me were slaughtered by one swipe of a long, silver sword. I leaned to one side, staring at the cloaked figure mockingly. “Those were my demons!! What gives you the right to kill them?!” The person never answered, just began to charge toward me. I grabbed my sword and ours clashed together, and I easily broke the contact. From the stature of the person, I guessed it was a man…geez, was there any estrogen in this place??! “What’s your deal?!?!?” I asked, remembering Dante’s words to me. He jumped forward quicker than what I had anticipated, but not quicker than me. For a while, I matched his skill easily, and even threw some silver stars into his shoulder. He then began throwing magic at me, and while I wasn’t up to date in my research, I didn’t need a witch to tell me how much pain I was in. I always picked myself up, though, unwilling to lose. I cut him only a few times with my sword, and even then, they were literally cuts. He, on the other hand, covered me in long gashes and left a few bruises…I guess we weren’t matched anymore! Without warning, the man shot this black magic toward me, causing me to scream. This paralysis of pain washed over my body, and I fell to the ground mechanically, breathing in short, jerky gasps. He laughed as he loomed over me, stamping his foot on my stomach. I shrieked, coughing up blood. “It’s been a long time, Princess…” he muttered, his voice calm and cool. He leaned closer toward me, his hood still masking his face. Guh!!!! This hurt so fucking bad!!! I was paralyzed, and every slight movement sent me swirling in agony. It felt like thousands of swords were stabbing me with each breath or twitch, and when I didn’t move, my body throbbed painfully. I had to grit my teeth whenever my body spontaneously flinched or convulsed, since I had already given him the satisfaction of hearing me scream twice. He watched me for a while, finally removing his hood. I was surprised that he was actually decent looking. He had buzzed blonde hair and dull blue eyes with soft features. His eyes could never match Dante’s…or Dean’s, for that matter… “You’re not bad…for a girl.” He took his foot from me, allowing me to breath easier. Well…the pressure was released, at least. He was balancing on the balls of his feet, his elbows resting on his knees. “Oh, right! You don’t remember!! How rude of me! I’m Kaylix- Kaylix Ledger. We used to know each other…I even kissed ya’ once!” He smiled down at me smugly, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “It seems Savlian isn’t as nice as he seems, eh? He and Abraham-“ His eyes widened, and he cursed at himself for a minute. “Nevermind that, love.” He stood up, running a hand over his short hair. I smiled to myself; what a stupid ass!! You never reveal who sent you! Rookie… I watched him, my eyes still able to focus and move, though it was becoming increasingly difficult. He looked around, then came back halfway toward me, like someone was watching him. “I am sorry, Princess. For this and everything else. Just…if you ever remember, know that I didn’t have a choice…” he whispered, jogging off into the fog. About a half an hour later, I was able to pick myself up, allowing some small cries of anguish to escape me. I slowly made it to my feet, the pain still there, but at least it was bearable now. I limped back to the castle, confused, angry, and in a decent amount of pain. Blood was trickling from the cuts on my shoulder and the one from my leg, and I was just happy my corset wasn’t ruined…I absolutely loved  it! I shook my thoughts, wondering what the hell had just happened. As I thought more about Kaylix’s face, I realized he did look kind of familiar, and thought about my life back in the “Realm”. I trudged up the front stairs to the castle, Babylon nestled in her sheath across my back, and Sin and Misery tucked away in their holster. I pulled the handle to the right door, punching it when it didn’t budge. “Fuck! It’s locked…” I growled, sighing as I looked up the walls of the castle. I didn’t have the will power to go around back and see if one of the other doors were open, so I figured climbing into one of the windows was my best bet. Sure enough, I saw an open one about two stories up, and latched myself on the thick English ivy that crept up the castle walls. I gasped in pain, clamping my mouth shut to silence my screams. Once I climbed up to the window, I grasped the ledge and pulled myself in, unable to suppress the tremor of agony that washed through me. The room was dark, and I didn’t pay attention to where I might be as I rolled out of the window and onto the floor. I was surprised to see bright blue eyes staring back at me, and I feigned a weak smile. “Jace?!?!” “Just…thought I’d drop by…” I rasped weakly, winking to him. Dante stood from his bed, a lamp flicking on quicker than what my eyes could adjust to. “What the hell happened?!?” His concerned attitude was a sure change from his depressed, crushed and angry one, and I smiled for a moment before answering. “Nothing…” He looked at me with almost the same expression as earlier, and I could see him desperately trying to add humor to his gaze. It wasn’t working, and I sighed. “It was nothing…” I whispered seriously, turning my head away. I was still sitting on his floor when I looked back at him, and I wasn’t sure how much time had passed. My head began to throb, and the room seemed to spin, but I focused on Dante as I spoke, and that made things a little better. “D-Dante?” He turned slowly, like it hurt him to look at me. “I…I want to remember.” He scooted toward me, sliding down his bed. “I don’t want people telling me I have another life. I want to remember everything on my own!” Dante kinda’ pet/stroked my head, and I sighed, forcing myself to speak again. “You…You were right. I believe you,” I murmured, unable to keep my eyes open. He didn’t say anything, and I frowned. “I guess that’s just a shot in the dark, huh?”  “It can be done…”  The voice echoed in my mind, and I opened my eyes to look around. I looked up at Dante; the voice was too deep and portentous to be his. The Loiza limped over and sat in front of me, and I watched it for a minute before turning back to Dante. “I-It talks?!?!”  “Only to you. In the Realm, everyone can hear him, but you guys and still talk privately if you want.” I turned back to him, watching as he dipped his head. “Naios…” He introduced, his voice low and deep. It was oddly comforting, though very ominous. He sounded wise and clever, and I turned to Dante with a tiny shred of hope. “How do I talk to him?” I whispered with my hand covering my mouth. Dante smirked and laughed, shrugging. “I dunno! It’s like…thinking, I guess.” I nodded, turning to Naios to give it a try. “Jace…” I spoke silently, yet it sounded as if I were talking to Dante. Naios smiled, dipping his head. “Jace learn fast…just like she used to.” I tried to smile at his broken English, but I couldn’t find the energy. “I want to remember, Naios…”  Ideclared firmly, staring at him hard. His bright amber eyes gleamed, and they suddenly sent me reeling back to when Dante showed me my powers, and all of the crazy images I saw and voices I heard. “Naios shall help, but Princess needs sleep…” “Princess? Oh…right.” Naios stood and limped toward the door, and I watched him before the room starting spinning again. “Whoa!!” Dante caught me, moving with inhuman speed. Technically, the room hadn’t spun at all…I had just fallen backward, but right now, they were both the same to me. I looked into his eyes before everything faded and I passed out from exhaustion, feeling my lips curve into a smile as I mumbled some jiberish to him.
