"So, did she like the tour?".
Hiccup looked up from his sketchbook to see his mother's curios expression. When he had come home after spending some more time with the wild dragons, he had just walked into his room without saying anything. Only a moment later though, he had appeared again with the sketchbook he hadn't touched willingly since his return from Arendelle."How do you know about everything I do?". Hiccup chuckled and asked. Valka smiled. "I don't. I just happen to know about your little date from Heather. ". Hiccup rolled his eyes ,slightly embarrassed. "I knew she couldn't keep a secret.".He smiled to himself before adding, "She said she liked it, but I think she enjoyed meeting the dragons more than anything." He replied with a smile, thinking about the challenging look she had sent him when she had leaned forward and again right before she had walked away. "Good,at least your being honest. So... what are you working on?" Valka asked him, seeing how Hiccup first pushed the sketchbook away from her, but then he seemed to change his mind for he looked down at whatever he had been drawing with a hesitant expression. Just a sketch." He replied, before looking up at her. "You can look see it if you wish, I have to go and change anyway before the wedding." He said, rising from his seat as he left the book open on the table so that if she wished, she could see the picture he had been drawing. On the papers in front of her was a highly detailed sketch of what was unmistakably Queen Elsa. She had a very happy smile on her face and a baby gronckle in her hands as snowflakes drizzled around her , much to the joy of the other baby dragons.
Hiccup smiled to himself as he thought if the memory that had inspired him to draw her.It was after his little chat with Captain Dimitri. He had gone back into toothless's dragon nest to make sure Elsa was doing okay. What he saw made his breath freeze up in his throat. Elsa looked amazing. Like she belonged there. The dragons also seemed to accept her as if they had known her all along. She had a very genuine and warm smile on her face as she played and giggled with the baby dragons. He had silently watched her until the baby Hornswoggle had tumbled to the ground and Elsa had feared it had gotten hurt, which really was a very unnecessary worry since the little dragon was, well, a dragon. But seeing Elsa's worried expression, Hiccup had known she would need more reassurance than just his words and, to be honest, he hadn't intended to get so close to her. But when he sat down next to her, he had seen an opportunity to test and see if he really did affect her like she affected him. So when he had noticed how distracted she had become by his closeness, and how flushed she had been afterwards, he had felt a strange sense of satisfaction in knowing he caused something to shift in her as well. What he hadn't expected however, was the way she had turned the tables around. Her blush had died away and had been replaced with eyes that swirled with promise only for her to leave him in state similar to the one he had left her.Hiccup had never thought of Elsa as a person who flirted with anyone, at least as anything but a joke, but then again she never did what he expected her to do and she never backed down from anything.
He swung his father's Chief cape. It was not as silky and refined as the ones Elsa wore back in Arendelle, but it symbolised the same thing for him. He attached the appendices to his black silken shirt . He then gazed at the Chief's crown that he had seen his father wear on so many occasions. He had never had the need to wear it. But if there was anytime to wear it, it was now. It was one of his closest friend's wedding. He sighed and picked up the silver crown with three emralds stuck up on it. It was not a crown as the crowns he had seen the aristocrats in Arendelle wear. But it was just as valuable to him. For the most part, it looked like a crown. Expect that it had the long pointy horns that was staple to every Viking head gear. He took one last look in the jagged mirror made of gronckle fiberglass and walked back down the stairs. Hiccup walked out of his room to see his mother and his adopted sister waiting for him downstairs.Valka was wearing a yellow ochre furry gown that complemented her high cheekbones and thin hairline. Heather , on the other hand, was wearing a grey sleeveless gown that flowed to floor. To be honest, he had never seen his family so well dressed. When they saw him come down, Valka smiled at him it was a deep happiness in her eyes he hadn't seen in a long time. Not since before his father's death . Heather hugged Valka and Hiccup one more time before she muttered."I'll wait outside". Valka smiled before Heather shut the door behind her. Valka turned back to Hiccup . "You are so handsome, I'm so proud of you." She said, giving him a hug that he, for the first time in a long time, returned fully. Valka sighed and hugged her son tightly. "She has the heart of a Chief and the soul ...of a dragon, son... don't let her go. ." His mother whispered to him and, to his surprise, Hiccup immediately felt how true those words were. "I know." He whispered back, the two of them smiled lovingly at each other and then walked out , leaving to the wedding as Heather proceeded on towards the great hall.
