Poem No. 45

346 34 13

Fingers stop mid-air

poised, frozen

unable

to move; cannot

heart pauses; a hush

eyes close, involuntary

this melody

long forgotten,hoped

plays unbidden

treacherous beat

traitor heart

breaths hitch

fingers shake

open and close

on the cold wood

blank screen

blinking cursor

taunting curse

the mind had hoped

the heart just...

traitor

eyes open, head turns

towards the open window

so it has been raining

fingers clench

to stop the flow

of blood and hurt

towards the traitorous heart

stop please stop

Not now, stop

the mind had hoped

gaze drawn to the floor

*drowning shadows once more.

-Not Again

*Sam Smith, you done me.
