You're in the park with your best friend. "I really don't know how to tell him...", you say. You see his face changing, getting sad. "You don't need to be extravagant, trust me. He should feel like the luckiest guy on earth just because you have feelings for him.", he says trying hardly to smile. "I wish it was as easy as with you, you know? I can tell you anything.", you say while leaning your head against his shoulder. "Why don't you practice with me?", he says. "What? How to tell him?", you ask surprised. "Yeah, why not.", he answers, turning your head around so you have to look at him. "Go ahead.", he mumbles. "I don't really know how to start... Um, I- I-... No.", you stutter. "Don't make such a big deal out of it.", he says. "Okay.", you whisper, looking into his beautiul blue eyes. "Uh, hey, we've been friends for so long and I've realized I really like you... I don't think friendship is enough anymore. I don't know if you feel the same way, but...", you start as he interrupts you pressing his lips against yours. You need a moment to realize what just happend and as you do, you push him away. "Hey! What the hell was that?", you ask loudly and slowly go away a little. "Listen, I'm sorry!", he says upset. You turn around and run away. Rob has been your best friend since you both were in kindergarten. Why did he just kiss you?
After a while of running you're starting to get slower. You think about the whole scenario again. Maybe it was just to make it feel real? Maybe he just did it because he wanted to show you your crush's reaction? That's it. Why did you think he wanted you? Ridiculous. When you both were in the 7th grade you promised to never fall in love with each other. How could he. You take your phone out of your pocket and phone him. "Hey, Rob. I'm sorry... I overreacted. Of course it was just because you played him. I shouldn't have run away." He's silent for a long moment. "Uh, yeah, yeah... Of course it was like this...", he stutters. "I guess I was just so surprised... I'm sorry. Should I come back?", you ask, now smiling again. "Uh, no... I have something to do.", he says and hangs up. What? A few minutes ago he had all time of the world to be with you and now he "has something to do"? You shrug your shoulders. As you walk home, you pass a ice-cream parlor and decide to eat some ice-cream. As you walk outside again, you see your crush with a girl holding hands. Not knowing what to do, you throw your ice-cream on the floor and run away. You take your mobile out of your pocket and phone Rob again. "Rob, I really don't care if you have something to do, I need you now!", you say while tears well up in your eyes. "Remember when you cried because of that girl? Yeah, I was there for you. Be at my place at 5:00 pm.", you say and swallow the tears. "(Your Name), but I can't...", he says as you interrupt him. "Shut up! I need you!", you say now crying again. "Please."
"Well, ok. I'll be there.", he moans.
