~Hitomi's POV~
It was 12:00 in the morning. My brother was fast asleep in the bed next to mine. I'd woken up after hearing some taps from the window of our second-story room. What the hell is that? I walked over quietly to the window and looked out, only to find a certain blonde idiot hanging from the flower bed outside the window. How had he even gotten up there.
"Hitomi-chan, let me in!" he whispered desperately. I sighed and opened the window cautiously, helping to pull him up.
"What the hell are you doing here this late at night, Howzer?!" I whisper-yelled.
"I just wanted to come and see you. It's been a while, hasn't it?" he smiled sweetly. I blushed.
"Sh-shut up! Let's go downstairs so that we don't wake up my brother. My father is out doing some business, fortunately for you," I said. We both walked downstairs.
I hadn't seen him in around a year. He'd sure grown since then. Almost as tall as Gil. And he'd gotten a lot more... handsome. I could get lost in his deep purple eyes, and his long dark-blonde hair was to die for. Wait. What am I saying?!
"Let's go outside. I know a nice place where we could talk," Howzer said, opening the front door. I looked at hm cautiously.
"Are you sure?" I asked. "What if Gil wakes up?"
"I'll take full responsibility!" Howzer announced valiantly, poitning to himself. "Now, come on!"
"Alright, alright," I smiled. "Let's go."
~Quick Time Skip~
"Here we are," Howzer said as we approached a large oak tree sitting at the top of a hill. It overlooked the city and the beautiful full moon.
"Wow," I mumbled in awe, sitting in the soft grass. "This is amazing."
"Isn't it? I thought you'd like it," Howzer grinned, sitting next to me. He twisted his right pinky around my left. I blushed. Unfortunately, the moon was so bright that my red face was very obvious. I yawned and rubbed my eyes with my free right hand.
"Tired?" he asked.
"Well, yeah. I've been off causing trouble all day. What do you think?"
Howzer chuckled. "I've heard. You're quite the troublemaker, aren't you. But I've also heard that you've developed your own magic power, huh? Somethin' about super sonic speed?"
"Oh, that. Yeah. Just a little somethin' I whipped up," I said, trying to make it sound like it was no big deal but at the same time I made it sound like I was hot stuff.
"Mmhmmm...," Howzer smiled, looking into my eyes. "You know, Hitomi-chan, you've got the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen."
Great. Time for my face to blow up again. I looked away from him as my cheeks turned red with embarrassment. Stop this! Stop it right now!
"Uh... Uhhh... T-thanks," I mumbled, untangling my pinky from his and laying down on my side, facing away from him. He looked a bit disappointed.
"Are you okay, Hitomi-chan?" he asked with concern.
"Oh, I'm fine. Perfectly fine," I grumbled.
"You sound angry."
"I'm not."
"You are."
"Nuh-uh."
"Uh-huh."
"I said no, goddammit!"
Howzer chuckled and laid down next to me. "It's fine. You don't need to tell me why."
"I won't."
"Okay."
"Would you just shut up already. Let me sleep."
"Okay. I'll make sure nothing happens to you while you sleep."
"Thanks. 'Night."
"'Night, Hitomi-chan."
