Vamp Mode takes a lot of work. After season one of the show's makeup artists revealed that making Paul and Ian into vampires or vamp mode as they call it, is really hard. In fact, that they have a long makeup process including contact lenses, fitted fangs and prosthetics. Plus, there is a special team that is there for all airbrushing and finishing touches, like blood effects.
