ok the reason why I make my main POC characters Colombian is because IM COLOMBIAN and I know their culture/way of speaking/ways of living/etc and if I do something else like Cuban or Argentinian or Venezuelan I'm going to get their way of living or culture wrong bc i don't really know those cultures. (except I know a bit about Cubans bc I live in Miami and 90% of the population is Cuban)
And I don't want to get anyone mad about doing something wrong
(remember everyone in South America has a different vocabulary than others, (even if we all speak the same Spanish) like for example Colombians says glasses like "gafas" and Venezuelans as "espejuelos")
