Why we have eclipses

Illuminating across the sky
Creating vibrant and vivid colors along her way
Waking up the different parts of the world
Keeping them warm under her light

He watches how they treat her
The songs they sing
The pictures they take
Showing off their skin provocatively so that she could 'kiss' it

But one or two fools may get to 'imitate' with her
Bruises and painful shedding of skin warns others not to get to close

She only continues to shine and smile at them
Seducing them with her rays
Seeming to love the attention

There's some not to fond of her
But she doesn't mind
Still shining everyday
Blinding many eyes with no guilt

The moon looks on for centuries
Jealous that everyone gets to bask in her presence
While he can only get a few rare glances of his lover
But not this day

The moon holds her into an embrace
Shielding her from the lookers below
For this is his one time to see her beauty for him self
Not wanting to let go

There's only a few times to see this rarity
Is it such a thing to see?
The moon and sun make love before your very eyes?
The moon claiming the sun as his

His jealousy represented by the darkness
Dominating her glow with his stone cold face
No one can see her anymore
Her light is gone
