#170- How You Spend Christmas Together

MERRY CHRISTMAS YA'LL

Ashton: "I remember doing this with my parents when I was younger," you said, looking at ornaments at Hallmark with Ashton, your son, and daughter. "Can I get this one?" Your son asked, holding up a Scooby ornament. "Whatever you like" you smiled. "These always go on front," Ashton said, putting on your first ornament you got on your first Christmas you spent together, along with your children'st first Christmas ornaments. "Daddy I want to put the star up," you son said, pulling on Ashton's pajama pants. "But mommy I do too," your daughter whined. "You hold this end," Ashton said, handing the star to your son. "And you hold that end," you said, giving the other side to your daughter, and you both lifted them up. A couple weeks later, you and Ashton were wrapping presents, doing all of Santa's work late Christmas eve, finally getting the kids to bed. "It looks amazing" Ashton said, looking at the tree, now loaded with presents. "We did good," you said, resting your head on his shoulder. "Let's get some sleep Mrs. Claus," he said, lifting you up, bringing you to bed. "Mom, Dad Santa came!" Your kids were jumping on the bed, minutes later. You and Ashton looked at each other smiling, happens every year.

Luke: "Dad, we look silly," your daughter laughed, wearing an ugly Christmas sweater for your Christmas card. Luke laughed, "It's okay, it's for fun," he said, positioning the camera. You and Luke have this funny family tradition of send thing the 'ugly sweater' Christmas card. "Make a funny face," you whispered to your daughter, when the car came out, you and her were making funny faces while Luke was smiling. Everyone loved your Christmas card and Michael had a collection of them on the fridge all year around, it was a good laugh. "This thing is impossible," Luke said, trying to take a Barbie out of it's box. Christmas was always the best time of the year. Sure, you got maybe ten minutes of sleep, but the look on your daughter's face was priceless. "Daddy open this for me," she said, handing Luke another toy. "Remind me next year, no more Barbies," he whispered to you, trying to get another doll out of it's box, you laughed. "Ashton, Michael and Calum are here!" She yelled, opening the door. They always came around, exchanging gifts, watching your daughter play with Michael was definitely a highlight of the day.

Michael: "Are you ready?" Michael asked as you hung onto the sled. "Yeah!" You said, as you buried your face into his back. You have never been sledding and you guys were at the end of your street, there was a giant hill. "We should decorate today," you said, coming in. "Yeah, we are a little late," he laughed. So, you guys went to the attic, pulled down all the decorations and went crazy. You were hanging the last piece of garland, but you leaned over too much and you almost fell, but Michael caught you, smiling. "Now all we have to do is go shopping for everyone withing the next two weeks," you sighed, laying on the couch. "We suck," Michael laughed, laying with you. The past few weeks, you got all of the presents bought, things baked, everything was done. The next morning, Michael woke YOU up really early, excited for Christmas. "Come on," he whined, pulling you out of bed. You guys went downstairs and opened every present, throwing wrapping paper at each other and laughing. "This was the best Christmas," Michael sighed, laying in the heaps of wrapping paper. "I know," you said, laying with him. "I can't wait to spend more with you."

Calum: "We need to bake cookies today," you said, stretching. "Trying to make me fat?" Calum laughed, pulling you closer to him. You laughed, "You nailed it." When you both decided to get up, you got to baking because everyone loved the cookies you made and they all wanted some. Calum was helpful, doing everything you asked, but sneaking a few bites every now and again. "That was a lot of work," you said, sitting on the couch. "Now we have to go give them to everyone," Calumpointed out, tossing you your coat. After you went and delivered the gifts and cookies, you were ready to call it a night. The next morning, you and Calum opened your gifts calmly, but still excited and had amazing day with each other. "We are so watching these," Calum said, wearing an ugly Christmas sweat you got him as a joke, as you put yours on. "I love old Christmas movies!" You yelled. He got hot chocolate ready, you got the DVD ready and you snuggled together, watching old movies.
