It was your first day of collage, not classes but the first day you would be living on campus. You were going to a university in a different state then your family so you had to only bring two suitcases and unpack yourself, having a really sad goodbye at the airport as well. You had picked this university for some reason, you had a special feeling about it like something amazing was going to happen here. Your whole family had been against you moving but something was drawing you here maybe it was fate.

You checked in at the front desk from a nice man named Rick. You went up to room 305 excited to meet your new roommate. 'Hopefully she's a cool girl who likes to do makeup and nails!' You thought. You opened the door to reveal what your room looked like and was disappointed immediately. Band posters were hung up on the wall and an x-box 360 was hooked up to a small t.v. Two suitcases were on the ground empty with what you assumed was boys clothes were scattered on the bed beside what you hoped was not your bed. A flush came from the bathroom and before you could freak out, the guy you were sharing you room with came out. Without a shirt on. Holy Hannah he was so hot. You were sure you had been staring at his six pack for so long because he cleared his throat.

"Hey....what are you doing in my room?" The hot kid asked confused.

"This is room 305 right?" He nodded his head. "Then I guess we're roomies, I'm Y/N!"

"I'm Dylan. I never thought I'd get a girl roommate, so I kind of decorated assuming the guy wouldn't care."

"Same, and it's fine I guess I will decorate my side of the room too."

An awkward silence flooded the room. "So, what are you majoring in?" Dylan asked, obviously trying to make small talk.

"English, I hope to become a teacher one day." He smiled. "What about you? Let me guess something with electronics or music."

"Not a bad guess judging from all the posters I have here. I'm actually taking cinematography." You were actually quite stunned. "I know right." He sounded kind of sarcastic.

"Why do you not want to do that?" I asked with concern. I really liked Dylan so far and I already knew we would be friends.

"I mean it's alright, but I actually would love to be an actor. I even had my own YouTube channel."

I smiled, glad that he was revealing his true passion to me. "Sounds great."

The first week of rooming with Dylan was fun, yet beyond awkward at the same time. Yes you had both walked in on each other naked at least once. It was prob the most embarrassing thing that had happened to you in your life. Tonight was a Tuesday and after classes you guys made plans to have a meeting to talk about dorm rules. It was only fitted as you guys would be living together for a few years and needed some organization.

"Okay what's our first rule?" Dylan said, holding a piece of paper in one hand and a pink marker in the other.

"Knock before entering the bathroom. At all times, even if you think I'm just brushing my hair." You said from experience. Dylan blushed.

"Keep your side of the room clean." You nodded.

"No hookups in here."

"What if I'm drunk and your asleep?"

"No, keep writing."

"Fine, if I'm having friends here you can't be obnoxious."

"Please like I'm ever obnoxious, anything else?"

"Oh yeah, don't fall in love with me." Dylan said with fake arrogance.

"Oh no, but I already have!" You said with sarcasm, putting your hands to your hearts. Both of you laughed and Dylan put the list up on the bathroom door.

By the third week Dylan had already broken one of the rules. You had come home on a Friday night from one of your new friends house only to find a girl you had never seen before, making out with Dylan on his bed. You made eye contact with him and then proceeded to close the door, only to hear the girl accuse Dylan of you being his girlfriend. She opened the door and walked passed you storming to the elevator. You entered the room again.

"What did we say about no hookups?" You yelled at Dylan, feeling a little hurt for some reason that he would do this.

"Sorry." He said sheepishly.

"I'm going to sleep."

The next few days you rarely talked to Dylan, feeling really hurt that he would do this to you even though he didn't have a reason not to like that girl. A realization hit you in the middle of your English class. Did you like Dylan? I mean you guys did spend a lot of time together as roommates.

You had gradually started talking to Dylan again after accepting your crush. You guys never brought up the incident again. It was nice, you guys seemed closer now and would do homework at the same time, usually taking breaks to get frozen yogurt together. Sometimes you would talk for hours at night about how homesick you both were.

"I haven't seen my mom in two months." You said about to burst into tears. "I haven't even talked to her in a week and I miss her so much." You said crying now.

"I know how you feel, my dad and sibling and I were really close and I now can really acknowledge how much I miss them."

"Life was so simple in high school." You sighed.

"Yeah I guess." You were crying hard right now.

"Goodnight." You said shakily. Every few second you could hear weird noise come out of you or a sniffle.

"Do you want to sleep with me for a night?" In the dark you gave him a look. "Not like that I mean like just sleep so you will feel better."

"Sure." You climbed into his bed and he immediately embraced you. You both fell asleep in silence. When you woke up in the morning you were still sleeping with Dylan. To try and not make it awkward you got up and started going to the bathroom.

"Good Morning." Dylan said groggy.

"Thanks for being there for me Dylan, I really appreciate it."

"Anything for you."

That night you slept with Dylan again, and the next night again. It started a pattern that neither of you told anyone about. You would just ask him or even a few times he asked you to and you both accepted. Little by little you started to break the rule of not falling in love with him, one night at a time.
