Jimmy: "Hello?"
Me: "Hey Jimmy! It's Stormi!
Jimmy: "Oh hey! How are you doing?"
Me: "Great! It's like it never happened!"
Jimmy: "Good!"
Me: "Yeah!"
Jimmy:
Me:
Jimmy: "I'm glad you called because I know it hasn't even been a full day day yet, haha, um, yeah, I hope you don't think that's weird or anything, um, I was wondering if you'd like to see me again and hang out or something if you think that'd be cool maybe."
Me: "Sure! That sounds like fun!"
Jimmy: "Oh. Okay cool! Can I have your number?"
Me: "Sure."
Jimmy: "Wait let me get a pen or something real quick. I didn't think you would call. Okay I'm ready. What's your number?"
Me: "You didn't think I would call back? Really? Why not?"
Jimmy: "Oh, I don't know. I just did't think you would."
Me: "Oh. Alright well, ... are you ready for my number?"
Jimmy: "-I mean, I just thought you might be busy tripping off of curbs or something."
Me: "Hahahaha! Yeah, good one!"
Jimmy: "Sorry, I had to!"
Me: "No, it's okay. It was funny!"
Jimmy: "Thanks!"
Me:
Jimmy: "What's your number?"
Me: "Oh sorry, um, 555-0129"
Jimmy: "555-0129?"
Me: "Yep!"
Jimmy: "Got it!"
Me: "Cool."
Jimmy: "Thank you."
Me: "No problem, bye."
Jimmy: "Oh, um, okay. Bye!"
Me: "What's wrong?"
Jimmy: "Nothing. I just thought that we would talk a little longer but if you have to go then-"
Me: "I can stay."
Jimmy: "Okay cool."
Me: "Yeah, I'd love to talk longer. I just didn't want it to get awkward."
Jimmy: "Oh yeah I understand. That sucks when that happens!"
Me: "Oh I know! It's so terrible. It's already happened twice this phone call!"
Jimmy: "Yeah. That's okay. It's just because we're just getting to know each other."
Me: "Yeah, I can't wait to get past that phase."
Jimmy: "I did have an idea earlier."
Me: "What?"
Jimmy: "Well, I don't know if you work or anything but I just thought hey, it's Saturday and I'm free and if you're free then I thought maybe you'd like to go have lunch this afternoon."
Me: "A lunch date huh? When?"
Jimmy: "When are you free?"
Me: "I'm free all the time. This is America."
Jimmy: "Hahahaha! That's really funny! I've never heard that one before! Hahaha!"
Me: "Haha! No I'm sorry. That was horribly chessey."
Jimmy: "I liked it. ...How does, right now, work for you?"
Me: "Okay. Like right now?"
Jimmy: "Yeahh haha."
Me: "What?"
Jimmy: "I don't know I just feel like you're gonna think I'm a creep or something. I'm like, hey gimme you're number, let's go on a date right now, let me tell you a story about a butterfly and a jelly fish in the emergency room!"
Me: "Haha! Jimmy, I do not think you're a creep. I called didn't I?"
Jimmy: "Yeah! So do you like sandwiches?"
Me: "How many times am I doing to have to tell you that this is America. Of course I like sandwiches!"
Jimmy: "Haha! So do you want to meet at subway?"
Me: "Yeah, that works. James' house is about 20 minutes away so I'll see you in 20 minutes?
Jimmy: "Yeah! That's perfect!"
Me: "Okay! See ya then! Bye!"
Jimmy: "Bye!"
I hung up the phone and just stood their biting my lip for a second. He is so cute! "Do I need to chaperone you kiddos?" James said from inside his room. I opened his bedroom door and he was standing right there at the door. He had been listening in. "...I'm not surprised." I plainly replied. "Fill me in on his side. I would only hear you." "All you need to know is that we are going on a date right now at subway." I said. "Well I already ate but okay. Let's go." he joked. "You know I mean Jimmy." "Yeah I know. Subway huh? He's a real romantic." "Shut up! It's our first real date! I don't blame the guy for not going all out for a girl that he just met." I explained. "Good point." he put his hand on my back and escorted me to the front door. "Yeah that's what I thought." I said. "Yeah but on a serious note, here's your coat," he handed me my north face. My 'coat.' "you left it over here last time you where here. Don't worry, I put some of my cologne on it just like you secretly wanted me to." "Yep. That's exactly what I wanted. You know me so well." I joked back. He laughed but then he actually got serious. "It's cold out." he said and started to help me put on my jacket. "I'm really happy for you because this is technically your first real date, ever." "Oh my gosh you're right. That's sad!" I laughed. "It's okay! Just have fun. If he acts like a pig, or anything, or if like-, if-he, just-like, Hmm. Okay. If he doesn't treat you like you are the most important thing in the world, kick him in the teeth." "K. Got it." He gave me a big hug. "I love you." he said. "I love you too." He kissed me on the cheek which was a big deal to me because he really doesn't kiss me hardly ever. It's rare. I smiled really big at him and he knew why I think. "Leave, you smelly garbage!" he playfully said to me and opened the door for me and I was on my way.
