(A second part was requested for my imagine "Running Away", so here it is. Thanks to the person who requested it ❤️)

A beam of sunlight shone through the thin curtain of the motel window. I blinked away my blurry vision and wiped my eyes, before looking over at Shawn. He laid there next to me, his breaths slow and silent, and his arm was draped over my stomach. I looked down at my lower stomach, remembering the little human that lived in there.
"Morning, Baby." I mumbled to it. Just then my phone began to vibrate on the side table next to me. The vibration caused it to slightly move side to side. The bed squeaked as I sat up to look at the caller id. It was my mom.

Shawn began to stir in his sleep. He groaned at the annoyance of my cell phone vibrating against the table. I was contemplating on whether I should answer the call or not but by the time I could make up my mind the phone stopped ringing. I grabbed my phone from the table, looking at its screen that now read 'missed call'. My mom had been trying to call me twice already. I put the phone down to go look at Shawn's, which was placed on the side table next to him. I had to reach over him to grab the phone and while doing so I almost fell on top of him, causing me to laugh. Though, I managed to grab the phone and sit back down on my side of the bed.

Looking at the screen I noticed that Shawn had three missed calls from his parents.
"What are you doing?" I heard Shawn's groggy voice mumble next to me.
"Our parents are calling." I replied, looking down at him. His eyes were squinted for he had just woken up. I placed his phone down in front of me.
"Of course they are." He replied, pulling at his hair.

"Maybe we should pick up the next time they call." I mumbled. Shawn sat up and grabbed his phone. He looked through it and then tossed it towards the end of the bed.
"They're just going to force us to come home." Shawn said, resting his head on the bed's headboard. I stayed quiet, unsure of what I wanted. To continue to run or go back and face our parents? From the corner of my eye I could see that Shawn was looking at me. I felt his hand grab mine, causing me to look down at our joined hands.

"I want to go back." I said. The words fell out of my mouth before I could even process them.
"What?" Shawn asked, almost in disbelief. I turned my head to look at him.
"Remember how I said that we can't just think about ourselves anymore?" I asked, Shawn nodded his head. Confusion was written across his face as he wondered what I was trying to say.
"We need to think about what's best for our baby, but that doesn't mean we can't consider us too." I sighed.

I got up from my spot on the bed and sat on Shawn's lap, facing him.
"I like where we live. And our parents may not like the situation we found ourselves in but they can't change anything about it. It is what it is." I said, brushing Shawn's hair to the side of his head with my fingers.
"We have to go back home and stand up to our parents, not just for the baby but for ourselves.". Shawn slowly nodded his head, looking down at the bed comforter.
"Running away isn't going to solve our problems, it's only going to make it worse." I said, dropping my hands to his neck. His eyes looked into mine.

"You told me to just say the words and we'd go back, and I said them. I want to go back." I whispered, searching his eyes. Shawn's eyes looked down at my stomach before he placed his hand against it. He looked back up at me before placing a kiss on my jaw.
"You're right." He smiled. He pressed his lips against mine, giving me a quick kiss.
"Go get ready and then we'll go.".

It took us three hours to get back home. We told our parents to meet us at a park not to far from either of their houses. Neither of our parents knew that we were all going to meet at the same place, face to face. Shawn's parents weren't aware that me and my parents were going to be there, and my parents didn't know about Shawn and his parents being there. Shawn and I had gotten to the park early, and our parents were expected to meet us there in five short minutes.

The slightest amount of nerves built up in my body but thankfully I had Shawn bedside me, there to settle my nerves.
"What are we going to say?" Shawn mumbled, looking over at me. I could see the slight emotion of fear in his eyes as if he were scared of how our parents would handle the situation.
"I don't know." I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder.
"I'm just going to say whatever comes to mind in the moment." I said, tilting my head up to look at him. His eyes searched mine before he slowly leaned his face towards mine. He kissed me. Slightly pulling away he mumbled against my lips.
"I love you.".
"I love you too." I whispered back.

The headlights of a vehicle shone through the windshield of Shawn's car. Then another set came into view a moment later. They were here. I gave Shawn a quick glance before I made my way out of the car, Shawn following.
"Y/N!" I heard my Mother's voice call before the slamming of a car door.
"Where have you been? I have been worried sick!" She said, jogging towards me. She stopped when she realized Shawn's parents who had just gotten out of their car.
"What are they doing here?" She asked in disgust, her eyes looking back at me and then at Shawn. Shawn and I met at the front of his car, his hand protectively grabbing mine.

"What's this?" Shawn's Father asked, gathering by my parents and Shawn's Mom. He looked at me in confusion.
"Um," Shawn mumbled, trying to start this awkward conversation, "we asked you guys to meet us here because we have some things to tell you together.". I nodded my head, looking up at Shawn for a brief moment.

"Even though you guys do not get along," I said pointing between Shawn's parents and mine, "Shawn and I have been seeing each other.". Our parents looked at each other in disbelief.
"For how long?" Shawn's Mom asked, shock still written on her face.
"Almost two years." Shawn replied, squeezing my hand. Before they could complain I spoke up again.
"Since you had forbidden us from being together we decided to run away, and we did. But I asked Shawn to take us back." I said.

"I'm pregnant." I admitted, nervous for the reactions I had yet to hear.
"What?!" My Father yelled, stepping forward. His eyes stared directly at Shawn in anger as if this was all his fault. I wrapped my arms around Shawn, my heart rate increasing. I was worried what my Father was going to do to him. My Mother stepped in front of my Dad, keeping him back. Everybody stayed quiet, amongst my Dad's huffing and puffing, so I used the silence to speak.
"Shawn and I's situation, it is what it is. And if you don't like it we are okay with that. If you want to continue to hate each other that's okay too, but what we want is for you to just let us live our lives. Just because you guys hate each other doesn't mean Shawn and I have to despise each other either." I said.

"And we aren't going to run away just because our parents don't know how to forgive and forget." Shawn said, wrapping his arms around me. My Mom sighed, directing the attention on her.
"Like Y/N said, it is what it is. And nobody can help who they fall for.". She directed her gaze on Shawn's parents as she continued.
"It's silly how we let this hatred affect our kids. We are at fault for their sneaking around and running away. For them, I am willing to forgive and forget." She said, a small smile appearing on her face. I smiled, proud that my Mom was stepping up when I never thought she would.
"Me too." My Dad said, no longer angry, placing his hands on my Mom's shoulders.

Shawn's Mom looked back at his Dad before she spoke up.
"It'll take some time but I think everything will end up fine." She said, a smile forming on her face. I got out of Shawn's embrace and grabbed his hand, pulling him with me to our parents. He hugged his parents and I hugged mine. Shawn's Mom ended up being right, it did take some time but everything in fact did end up being fine.
