[PRIVATE CHAT. MELANIE AND DANIEL]

melanie: i think im ready to tell you

danny: tell me what

melanie: about the best friend thing

danny: really?

melanie: yea, i trust you so

melanie: three years ago i met a guy through my brother. he was his friend that always went to my brothers parties.

melanie: we had met at one of the parties of course and he was one of the few people that weren't drunk along with me. we started talking and he told me that he was aspiring to be an actor while i told him i wanted to be a writer

melanie: at the time, I didn't know it was going to turn into this big thing but i trusted him for a lot. i trust you more but I practically saw him everyday to tell him things everyday, maybe things he wasn't supposed to know

melanie: months later after that night we still talked and we kind of had a small thing happening. we kissed a few times but never put a label on it. one day my brother told him that he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend that same day, but he left

melanie: he left to go on your stupid show and he left to become jackson stupid whittemore and he left me in santa monica

melanie: he only contacted me a few times a week before it turned to once a month and then never. and I thought that i was in love, you know? i thought that he loved me too and that it would be me and him for forever but apparently not. and its all my fault

danny: nothing is your fault at all

melanie: yea, I practically fell in love with him and spent months in my room crying over the jackass

danny: thats a reaction to what he has done. that doesn't mean its your fault

danny: 123-456-7890 (only number in my head) call me, melanie

The curly haired girl stared at the number in shock, eyes wide and lips parted. Daniel seemed like a person to not give strangers his number, but in Melanie's situation, it seemed like it was needed.

"Hello? It's, uh, Melanie." she stuttered her first actual words to him and felt like her whole body was on fire.

"Melanie, it's Daniel. Like you already probably knew," he chuckled, "I just wanted to hear your voice and tell you that it's not your fault." Daniel's voice sounded like he had woken up; raspy yet smooth and soft. Just like she had imagined it. It was carried with an British accent that she loved and she urged to see his face deeply. His soft brown hair and pointy nose.

"How are you so sure?" To Daniel, Melanie's voice sounded deep and like a singers voice. He had expected it to me light and airy, yet Melanie's voice was better and made him smile more than ever.

Daniel sighed on the other line and made some movements. "Because I know you Melanie and I believe that it was all Colton's fault. I can beat his ass for you."

Melanie laughed and threw her head back onto the pillow she was on. "That won't do any good, but thanks. I appreciate your concern."

"Pretty sure it will, 'Lanie." Daniel had liked making nicknames for Melanie and this was one of the many he made up. He never actually called her them before, but now was different, "I still plan on seeing you in Santa Monica, baby girl, I just need a place to meet you."

Melanie's grin grew so big from the common nickname and she giggled like a small girl before replying. "Meet me on the beach at 7:30. No one is there that early. Any day is fine, just tell me when."

"Will do, Mel. One last thing before I go," he cleared his throat,"I will probably start calling you everyday because your voice is fucking hot. Bye, Melanie"

"What a compliment. Goodbye, Daniel."
