(Christian’s POV)

I lay next to Ruthie that night running my fingers through her hair as she slept.  I meant it when I told her I love her tonight, I always have loved her.  She didn’t say it back, but I’m okay with that I want her to tell me when she’s ready.  She told me to promise her that I would never hurt her, and I never would, I couldn’t even if I tried.   If anyone in this relationship was going to hurt anyone.  Ruthie would be the one to hurt me; she wouldn’t do it on purpose of course.  I lean over and kissed her on the cheek just as I heard a car, I looked out the window to see Michael’s car.  “Pixie, get up, Michael and Remy are home.”  She shot up and we crept down the stairs pausing on the last step peeking around the corner.  They stumbled through the front door laughing once Michael shut the door he wrapped his arms around Remy waist and kissed her.

“Okay you two, come out here now,” Michael demanded with his arms still around Remy.

“Hey guys,” Ruthie said as we rounded the stairs.  “What’s up?”

“Don’t you dear act coy, you two must think you’re so funny,” Michael scolded as we bowed our heads in shame.  “Well we have one thing to say to you two, thank you.”  Our head shot up as he and Remy hugged us.

“Her love is like the wind, I can’t see it but I can feel it,” Ruthie quoted from the movie “A Walk to Remember” that we were watching on my laptop at the park; me sitting with my back leaning against a tree and Ruthie sitting between my legs leaning against my chest.  “I love this movie.”

“I know you do,” I said kissing her cheek.

“It was a good idea to come watch this at the park; it’s a perfect day out.” She commented.

“Yeah well I didn’t want to watch it in the living room with the couple permanently attached at the lips.” I joked and we laughed.

“Leave Michael and Remy alone, they’re in love.  I’ve never seen my brother and best friend so happy.” She told me.

I looked around the park, and realized something, “hey come here.” I grabbed her hand after packing up my laptop, dragging her over the swing sitting her down on one. I then took the next one and lean over and kissed her.  “This is where we had our first kiss, exactly ten years ago today.”

“That’s right today is the ten year mark, t is also our one month anniversary,” she noted.

“I know that as well,” I agreed pulling a small box out of my pocket.

“Oh,” She gasped.  “Christian you didn’t have to.”

“Hey, you’re my girl, it’s our anniversary, and I love you.” I explained handing her the box as she smiled opening the box.

“Oh my god, it’s beautiful. Thank you,” She said quietly as she gazed down a small sapphire crystal star that hangs from a silver chain.  “Could you?”

“Sure,” I said taking the necklace from the box as she turned and lifted her hair.  I took my arms around her and fasten the chain, and she let her hair fall and turned to face me.

“I love it,” she gushed and kissed me.  I took her hand and sat her down on my lap on my swing and held her by the waist as we slowly swung a tad.  “I’m hungry,” she said just as her stomach rumbled, and we both laughed.

“Come on,” I declared grabbed a picnic basket and led her down to a small secluded lake just as night begun to fall, where a few others couple are having picnics as well.  After we ate, we just sat staring out of the lake when soft slow music played from a radio that a couple had brought.  “You want to dance?” I asked.  She smiled and took my hand as we began to dance while a few others joined us.

“I love you too,” Ruthie whispered as we dance as a huge smile spread across my face.

I know its short and not much happen in this chapter, but it’s one of those filler chapters!
