I hadn't seen any colour before I met her,

the whole world was in black, grey, and white.

When I first met her I was in line at a cafe,

I bumped into her and managed to spill her coffee on her dress.

We ended up having two coffees and four slices of cake,

trying to extend our meeting as long as we could.

I hadn't noticed the colour then,

now that I look back I can tell how the colour began.

The light grey of her eyes was fading,

each time we met the grey faded bit by bit.
