"What do you mean the truth, Dill?" She asked lightly.

"The truth, well, the truth is that you breath in the light and breathe out dark. You have to get past the rough and tough before you find anything good, but the best things come from the journey," That's what my mother always shared. But what would she know, she's been a drunk for who know's how long.

"I don't know how you can think like that, sounds like nonsense to me, but what do I know?" Riley's sneakers scuffed against the dusty cement as she slid farther away from me. I glanced at her, her eyes creating maps from the stars in the deep blue sky. She turned her head back at me, giving me a quick glance before looking back to the sky.

"We should probably go, Riley," I suggested.

"I don't want to leave this place Dill. It's not perfect, but it seems to be good for now."

"Riley..."

"We should just stop the world, keep it for this moment. Dill, just this moment?"

I let out a sigh and shook my head, she never wants to go back. I mean we're both lucky they let us out anyways.

"Fine."
