What is love without sacrifice?
Being a Princess wasn't as lavish and spectacular as onlookers may have believed. Yes, she had been raised in a beautiful castle with servants at her beck and call, showered with exquisite jewellery and gifts but none of that made her happy. He made her happy.
The one element of the life of a Princess that wasn't lavish nor spectacular was that you're personal happiness relied on the choices made by your father, the King of England. It was for that exact reason that Georgiana loathed her father.
It was because of him that she found herself keeled over as the downpour of rain splashed on the ground beside her; each icy raindrop stung her exposed skin. The lace veil that covered her face, hung before her like a shield protecting her from the gaze of anyone that had witnessed what had happened a few moments ago. She clenched and unclenched her hands, fisting the ivory material of her gown...her wedding gown.
Anger and hurt surged through her veins and her breathing grew deeper. She lifted her head, swiping the wet veil over her head so that the rain fell against her smooth skin. She inhaled deeply, closed her eyes and embraced the sound of the storm around her. Only when she exhaled did she allow the tears to fall freely.
They loved each other so deeply that they had forgotten their sacrifice gave the ones who sought to tear them apart the power to destroy them.
