Chapter 11: Visions of the Past and Of What's to Come

Ruki, like a prince bent one leg down and held my hand. As he did this, everyone's eyes were on us. Kaname was looking over at us with a sad smile, my brothers were somewhat annoyed, and everyone else was silent.

"May I have this dance, Yumi...?"

*play the video*

I blushed because everyone in the ballroom was looking at the both of us.

"Yes, you may." I answered with a smile on my face. I then took Ruki's hand and he gripped it tightly.

He then stood up and led me to the middle of the ballroom. Everyone was surrounding us in a circle.

I curtsied as he bowed.

Our feet then moved to the rhythm of the song.

Wow.. I didn't know that Ruki could even dance.... As we danced, I felt like he and I were the only ones in the ballroom. My golden eyes were looking deep into his blue-grey eyes.

"What's this? You can't even take your eyes off me for even a second. You must think I'm very attractive, Yumi..." I looked into his eyes, not even wavering them for a second.

"Yes, you are. You're so attractive that I can't take my eyes off of you at all."

For a second, I saw Ruki look away and blush. "Why, you.. How dare you make me look like this.."

As the music continued, I heard people whispering to each other.

"Ruki and Yumi look so nice together. It's like they are born to be together... I would never complain about them being together." I heard one of the Day Class girls say.

"They are the perfect couple!" Kou said cheerfully.

"I have to admit... They don't look that bad. I've never seen Yumi look that way at Kaname, but she does with Ruki... What does Ruki have that Kaname doesn't?" Ayato said in an annoyed tone, his arms crossed.

I can tell you what Ruki has that Kaname doesn't. My heart, my love. He has my everything. As the waltz continued to play, Ruki held my waist tighter, as if he wanted to let me go. I then put my hands on his chest as we continued to dance. He then spinned me and pushed me to his chest.

"You're my one and only Eve, Yumi. Every since I met you, I may have sounded cold, but in reality it's the fact that I fell in love with you the moment I saw you." He whispered.

"And you're my one and only Adam... You're the one that I want by my side for all eternity. I don't care what Father, my brothers, anyone says... They will never change my decision." I stated with a strong resolve.

As we then began to slow dance, we shared a passionate kiss in front of the entire crowd without a care in the world who saw us.

Everyone was whistling and cat-calling. Some even said to get a room.

After the song concluded, Ruki and I just looked up at each other and I smiled happily while blushing.

"I love you, Yumi..." He said passionately.

"I love you too, Ruki..." I answered, caressing his cheek.
