"Forgiveness cannot heal a heart unwounded by atonement."

 Cain

Here I wish the compass points,

to the nether reaches of nowhere.

The seas of space shall swallow me,

 and even then,

 I still walk on.

That the stuff of dreams carry me,

to a place of all that slumbers fair.

The sands of time shall dissolve me,

 but even so,

 I still walk on.

My morbid fears are gone with light,

and wings shall bring me through despair.

That providence I pray will guide me,

 and yet do I,

 I still walk on?

To all that sleeps beneath the earth,

to all who have such glassy stares.

The skies and stars far above me,

 promise me,

 I will walk on.

Oh dawn that brings the greatest hope,

this compass points me to nowhere.

And yet even with my fingers crossed,

 they promise me,

 I'll still walk on.

My feet now ache from thousand steps,

my hand outstretched for dawn so fair.

And yet the horizons do forsake me,

 so I walk away,

 I still walk on.

This compass points me to nowhere,

 I lie,

I pray,

I still walk on.

Forever will I walk from dawn.

 Forever will

 I still walk on.
