I woke up to the blaring of my alarm clock going off, signalling another day of school is freshly ahead of me. I stretch my arms above my head loosening my muscles, finally I peel myself out of bed the warmth of the sheets leaving me freezing cold in my pj's. I walk to the bathroom that is right across the hall from my bedroom, I start the shower up as I wait for the water to become heated I start peeling my clothes off. I jump in the shower and goosebumps immediately arise from my skin. I wish I could just stand here and soak up all the heat, but I must hurry so I can make it to school on time. I quickly get my hair wet and grab the shampoo, I pour a generous amount into my hand and rub it into my scalp. As I let my fingers gently massage my scalp I close my eyes, the feeling so good. I keep my eyes closed as I wash the shampoo from my hair and next grab the body wash, pouring some on my lofa then spreading the bubble's across my skin. I rinse my body off and stick my head in the water finally washing the sleep from my eyes. I turn the water off and grab my towel. I wrapped the towel around my body and go to my room to grab today's outfit from the closet. I pull on my dark blue skinny jeans and my white v-neck. I go back in the bathroom and brush my teeth and next my hair, after my hair is brushed I grabbed the hair dryer and start blow drying my hair trying to get it as dry as possible. After I blow dry my hair I make my way down stairs, I can already hear the sound of his voice. Goosebumps start to make their way everywhere on my body when I turn into my kitchen and see Thomas talking with my mother like the gentleman he is. Thomas is tall, almost at 6 feet, and his amazing eyes are so incredible I believe that you can see the ocean in them. I clear my throat to get their attention, I see both of their heads turn to me the conversation long forgotten. "Good Morning." I say, to them both. My mother's smile brightens my mood even more as she says good morning back to me, as I turn to look at Thomas I see he is already looking at me with such passion it makes my knees weak for a second. Thomas walks up to me and tilts my chin up more with his forefinger and thumb, he leans down close to my lips and says "Good Morning Beautiful." I blush crimson as we kiss, never getting tired of how our lips mold together in a sweet symphony. As we pull apart we notice my mom has left the kitchen to give us a moment of privacy. "Well we should probably head to school are you ready?" Thomas asks me, I nod my head and grab a piece of toast for the road shouting goodbye to my mother as Thomas and I head out the door. We walk to his 2001 Jeep Wrangler, he pulls my side of the car door open for me I say a quiet thank you as he shuts the door. Thomas walks over to his side of the car and opens the door with the keys in his hand, we buckle up and are soon taking off down the road. I live in the country, Deerfield Kansas. It's a small town with a heart of gold I love the small country life and so does Thomas when we graduate we still are debating on leaving Kansas and looking for a new country life or staying and just beginning a new chapter here. We still have a while before that happens though, as we pull up to Deerfield High School seeing many other students pulling up to the same building. As we got out Thomas soon grabbed my hand and pulled me close to his side, as we walk to our shared locker we can already hear our friends bickering to one another as they wait for our approach. Stephanie and Michael are also dating like Thomas and I. Stephanie is my best friend I go to her for everything and Michael is Thomas's best friend. Thomas and I met in freshman year and instantly clicked from the start unlike Stephanie and Michael who at first hated one another but now are super close and in love. "Kaylee can you please tell Michael that I look hideous today." something about her smile told me she was just teasing him, as I looked at Michael I can see he looks shocked and is staring down the hallway, I turn to look at Thomas and he is already looking at me. I blush lightly and look down the hall where I see a girl walking down the hallway in a little black dress with long wavy blonde hair, as she is walking every guy in the hall seems to turn to look at her. She has a small smirk on her ruby lips as if she knows she has everyone's attention. I turn to look at Thomas once more and see him eyeing the girl ahead. I clear my throat to get his attention and he quickly whips his head towards my direction. "Sorry." He mumbles, I just shake my head in playful anger knowing that I can never get too upset with him. "Hey, my names Victoria what's yours handsome." I hear her silky smooth voice say, I turn to see who she is talking to and see her eyes roaming Thomas. He wasn't hiding his interest in her as much either, I slap him in his stomach to get his attention for the last time. Victoria has another thing coming if she thinks I'm going to let her ruin my four year long relationship. "His name is Thomas and I'm Kaylee his girlfriend," the words shot out of me like venom. She looks to me and I can see her eyes turn a even darker shade of brown maybe even black. My eyes widen as she glares me down, "Sorry I didn't even see you there, my bad." Her eyes once again go to a hazel brown and she smiles big and wide showing her fake interest in me. I scuff and look at Stephanie who is looking between us worried. "I think Michael and I are going to go to class now are you coming Thomas, Kaylee." Stephanie says loud enough to get everyone's attention. The tension in the hallway is almost suffocating, Thomas clears his throat and smirks at Victoria, "Yeah it was nice to meet you." I roll my eyes as she bats her eyes looking at him all innocent. We turn the other way down the hallway and I'm steaming angry at him for flirting back with her, "Thomas what was that for I'm your girlfriend you have no right to flirt with someone else at all!" Thomas turns to look at me, I can tell by his eyes he is angry at me "It doesn't matter Kaylee I'm with you not her, don't even worry about it." I felt the stinging in my eyes as tears started to roll down my cheeks, I can't believe him I turn to run down the hallway and as I do I can see Victoria standing there with another guy holding hands. Victoria is looking at me as an evil smile stretches across her face. I can't take her stare any longer as I quickly rush down the hallway. "KAYLEE!!!!" I enter the girl's bathroom as I hear my name being called, I turn and see Stephanie there panting with a look of worry on her face. "I came after you as soon as you turned around, Thomas was behind me but then out of the blue he got distracted by Victoria." More tears rush down my face as I can already think of them flirting some more with one another. "What does she have that I don't, I mean I have never even seen her here before and after four years together you think Thomas would have more respect for our relationship then that." Stephanie hugs me close and rubs my back "Kaylee you and I both know Thomas does have respect for your relationship, and I don't honestly know who Victoria is either. I mean she was holding that guy's hand and then when you ran away and Thomas was coming for you she appeared out of nowhere and all alone." I looked at her confused by her words "What do you mean she just "appeared" that's impossible Stephanie." "I know it's impossible Kaylee, but I'm telling you that's exactly what happened." I just stared at her confused still, how could someone just appear magically like that. My tears long forgotten we both decide we should check on Thomas and Victoria. We tip-toe to the door as quietly as we can, edging the door open slowly we only see Victoria standing there. We look at one another in confusion because Thomas was suppose to be right there with her. We watch as we hear footsteps nearing close to Victoria, as she starts smiling I know it's someone she recognizes. "Hello beautiful, what are you doing just standing in the hallway all by yourself?" I recognize the voice as my math teacher Mr. Robertson. "I was just waiting for the perfect meal is all, and you look like the best candidate." My eyes widen as I take in her words, what does she mean the perfect meal. She can't possibly be a cannibal can she? "I can be anything you want babes." Mr.Robertson replied back to her, Stephanie and I watch in shock as Victoria and Mr.Robertson start kissing one another, as the kiss gets more heated Mr.Robertson starts choking and shaking. Mr.Robertson soon falls to the floor gasping for breath as Victoria's eyes go completely black, and a low menacing growl bubbles up from within her. She slowly makes her way down to Mr.Robertson who is shaking with fear, she slithers up to him and opens his mouth. She leans down so only an inch or two of space is left, slowly a pure white starts to travel through the space between them into Victoria. She hums in satisfaction as his soul is beginning to leave his body. Mr.Robertson is losing color in his skin tone and is stopping all movements. As she sucks the last of his life away, I begin to realize I was crying. Stephanie stood there in shock right beside me as we watched this monster suck the life away from our teacher. A man who always committed his life to his students. Victoria stood up from his lifeless body, staring down at the man with no sympathy in her wicked black eyes as a small smirk stretched across her lips. Her once black eyes returned to their normal light brown color, and if it's even possible she looks even more youthful and gorgeous than before. Stephanie and I close the bathroom door quickly when she looks our direction, we hear her heels clicking our way so we run inside the bathroom and stand on the toilets. I can hear her make her way into the bathroom, she stops suddenly and starts sniffing the air like she is looking for our scents. I thank the lord when I realize we are in the bathroom where many girls have been in and out of and she can't focus on our scents alone. As she starts to leave I sniffle a little and freeze when she stops in her tracks. As she is steam walking in my direction I close my eyes as I hear the bathroom door open. The loud slam echoing off the walls, I open my eyes and to my relief she is not there she was in the door next to mine. My relief soon vanished as Stephanie screamed in terror, I bolted out of my stall to see Victoria trying to suck her soul to. I pushed Victoria away and looked at Stephanie, she looked pale from head to toe she almost resembling a ghost. "What exactly were you trying to do to her Victoria!" I exclaimed, she looked at me as if she knew that I knew her secret but I'm not dumb, I'll just pretend like I don't know anything this way she doesn't suspect us. "I could ask you to the same thing why were you both standing on the toilets?" Victoria questioned, "We were hiding just incase a teacher came in here, this way we wouldn't be caught for ditching our first classes." The lie slides of my tongue like silk. She looks me in the eyes as if she is trying to read my mind, I just stare back at her twice as hard. She finally looks away from me to Stephanie who is shaking in my arms, I hug her close to me and tell her everything is going to be alright. "Alright, so you guys heard nothing and saw nothing then, correct?" Victoria questioned. "Yes nothing why do you keep asking, was there something we were suppose to see and hear?" "No, I'm just curious is all." Victoria walks out backwards keeping her eyes on Stephanie and me, but I believe she is mostly staring at me. Before she fully leaves she smirks and says "By the way that boyfriend of yours is cute, but I would watch out don't want anyone to steal him away now do we." She asked like a question but I heard more of a statement. I knew in that moment I would do anything to make sure Thomas was and is okay. He is the love of my life, and nothing is going to come between that. Stephanie and I get up from the bathroom floor, with determination in my blue eyes I make my final decision. I'm going to kill Victoria one way or another.
