THE QUESTION OF CREATION; VERSE 1

940 111 19

on the seventh day
god laid back on his acropolis
with a quill tipping from his teeth
and penned leviticus
and breathed psalms
into the gaping mouths of disciples.
a divine river of words
ran down the streets of jerusalem
screaming Truth and God Almighty
and years later
they bounce off the underside of heaven
and slip through church doors
sublimed into mist and sinking
themselves into empty pew seats
and lacing Unholy eardrums
with Holy verse.
did god make humans
or
did humans make god?
and did he make us
weak and
prone to temptation
or did we make him
our excuse?
inhale scripture
and feel your lungs turn it to salvation
feel your shoulders lifted
by the arms of angels
feel dizzy with revelation
and name yourself mark matthew luke or john --
we are all of us apostles
of our own revealed truths.
