Alone, she sits, all by herself.

Feeling ignored, put on a shelf

"Maybe tomorrow, or the next day,"

She waits and waits while he's at  play.

Excuses, excuses, that's all he has,

A forgotten old toy, she feels as much as.

Why hasn't he texted? Or made a phone call?

Is he starting to let their love fall?

For her birthday, he says, something special is in store,

Something she might like, maybe even adore.

But useless she finds, this daily-used thing,

All she hoped for, was just a wedding ring.

Don't get me wrong, he is fantastic,

He makes our smiles stretch like elastic.

He cares for our feelings and treats us great.

But not one of us understands the reason for wait.

It's been five years.

And it brings me to tears

To think of her being alone once more

With, or without him, just like the last four.
