They fight to survive, wondering if they are even still alive,

Nothing given but watch as everything is taken,

A child fighting to survive; watch as his father dies,

Then bites his lips and says goodbye.

When did the world ever become so cold?

Every second a child cries; politicians continues to spread their lies,

Another child tires to endure; tries to understand why she walked out that door,

In just another minute a child dies; listen, can't you hear their cries?

They can't afford to sleep; their demons plague their thoughts,

Simplifying every battle they ever fought,

Don't you see those selling scraps?

Then why do we never offer them snacks?

He's an orphan with a gun strapped to his back,

Fighting for the persons who will never appreciate that fact,

His drug addict mom; yes she left him to die in a washing pan,

We celebrate as we eat and gain weight,

Oh congrats you ignorant fool!

Another hour and their bodies continue to pile like a tower,

He's dying and she's crying; no one's listening,

It's just another day where an innocent child has to pay.
