"Aves, I've got a little job coming up. Could be a fair bit of dosh in it for you." Ross gave his sister a little nudge. "I'll tell you more details within a couple of days." He told her as Debbie rushed down the stairs, carrying Jack, so the acted normal, as if they weren't planning any criminal activity.
"I'm late, I'm late! Sarah's supposed to be at school in half an hour and I can't get Jack to nursery at the same time! Ross, why haven't you gone to work yet?!" Debbie hurried.
"I'm just leaving!" Ross quickly rushed out the door, so as not to get in his girlfriends way.
"Debs, I'll take Sarah in if you want?" Ava offered.
"Would you? Oh, your my lifesaver, Ava. Thank you!" Debbie sighed in relief, feeling a load of pressure off of her shoulders. Ava nodded in response, she liked Debbie, although she did get herself in a tizz sometimes.
"Sarah! Come on, I want to get a coffee from the cafe before we leave." Ava called up the stairs. She slipped her feet into her timbalands and put on her green bomber jacket as Sarah walked down the stairs. "Got your bag?" Sarah nodded in response, as Ava helped her into her school shoes and coat. "Let's go." Sarah pushed her hand into Ava's, as they left through the front door.
"Bye Mum!" Sarah hummed back to Debbie as she left.
"Bye, babe, have a good day." Debbie replied back to her. "I love you!"
Sarah skipped along with Ava towards the cafe. They sang Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood', messing around, having fun before Sarah had to go to school. "Why don't you go to school?" Sarah asked Ava as they entered the cafe.
"Weeeeell, I wasn't a very good girl. But, Sarah, don't do what I did, not a good idea." She sternly told her kind-of niece. "Do you want a cheeky cake before school? I won't tell Mummy and Ross if you don't." They both laughed, Sarah nodded eagerly. "Ok, just not chocolate mind."
"Blueberry, please!" Sarah sang, grinning up at Ava. Ava placed her hand on Sarah's back in protection as a guy came up behind them.
"Can I have a blueberry muffin and a decaf coffee, please. No sugar or milk." Ava asked the woman.
"Are you new around here? I'm Brenda, me and my husband, Bob, own the cafe." Brenda smiled, welcoming her. "Here you go." She handed them the muffin and coffee.
"Take yours, Sarah." Ava told her. "Yeah, I'm Ava Barton. Ross' little sister." Ava smirked. She figured Ross had acquired a name for himself around here, and by Brenda's reaction, she didn't look as if she was happy to have another of Ross' relatives in Emmerdale.
"Ava? Nice of you to actually come and see us." Ava heard her eldest brother, Pete, behind her. She sighed.
"Didn't want too." She scoffed.
"Ah, don't start all this again. Your seriously going to get involved with Ross again? He's a thug and a criminal." Pete raised his eyebrows, giving his little sister a telling off.
"Shut your mouth. Your the one that tried to kill Ross. You can rot in prison for all I care." She growled at him. "I don't want anything to do with you or Dad."
"Mum's back you know." Pete told her.
"Sarah, go sit down babe." Ava pointed to a table, and Sarah went to sit down. "Of course I know you bloody pillock. Don't you think Ross has told me everything? 'Coz he has. Like before, never wanted anything to do with you, and I still don't now."
"Ava." Pete started to get angry, frustrated. Be grabbed Ava's arm, holding onto it too hard, so Ava was stuck in his grip. "Stop being such a child and grow up. I'm your older brother now start respecting me."
"Get off, your hurting me!" Ava exclaimed.
"Oi, mate. You wanna leave her alone?" Another man, around the age of eighteen, told Pete, pulling him off of Ava.
"Stay out of it, Kirin. Just because your for some reason best pals with Ross, stay out of my business. She's my little sister and I can do whatever I like." Pete got up in his, Kirin's, face.
"Yeah, well you'll be in prison soon. So good luck with that." Kirin chuckled. "Coffee, please, Brenda." He asked her, smiling warmly.
"Take a seat with us if you want." Ava offered, Kirin obliged, setting his sons pram next to the table and taking his baby out as he had started to cry. He got the dummy out to put in the baby's mouth as Brenda brought his coffee over.
"So you're Ross' little sister. Heard a lot about you. Didn't think you'd be this beautiful though." Kirin teased. "This is my boy, Johnny, by the way."
Ava chuckled a little. "Yeah, me and Ross have been known to get in a lot of trouble together. How do you know my brother?" She asked.
"He's sort of my best mate, I guess. Well, we both became Dad's at the same time, it was easier to have someone who also wasn't that keen on benign a Dad and was going through the same thing. But, in the end, we ended up loving our boys to pieces.we think Moses and Johnny are gonna be best mates when they're older." Kirin smiled. Ava was almost drooling, he was seriously hot.
"Mozza's a little cutie, although I only actually found out I was an Auntie last week when I turned up here." Ava told him. "Sarah, eat up, we've gotta get going or your Mum'll kill me for not getting you there on time." She hurried Sarah along. "Nice to meet you. I'm sure I'll see you some time." She beamed at Kirin, before leaving with Sarah.
"Who was that?" Vanessa asked her boyfriend and father of her child as she walked past Ava into the cafe.
"Ava Barton. Ross' little sister would you believe." Kirin watched the door she had gone out of.
"Hello? Earth to Kirin?" Vanessa started to get annoyed.
