A World of Flamingos

Gaining in this world notoriety,

Colored heads splashed, painted lips dance

With flamingo pink.

But a word with you perchance?

Drowning in superficiality,

Airbrushed bodies, done up faces

Impossible goals

Your self esteem it erases

This beauty is not reality

Fake lips and noses, puffed up busts

It's all a lie

Everything rusts

What happened to the art of subtlety?

Colors of nature, hues of earth

The gentler shades

Have they lost their worth?

Gone is the world of novelty

Fads rule the world, media ablaze

Individuality lost

With every new faze

Now I tell this current society

Through poetry soft, simple words inked

Remember one thing

Flamingos almost went extinct.
