Strange Whispers Among the Midnight Shadows

Strange whispers stir me as I slumber.
Midnight shadows take on strange behavior.
Is it a dream or is it real, it's so hard to tell;
But my gut tells me to remain utterly still.

Do you hear them as well?
These unsettled demons from hell.

Strange whispers now keep me prisoner.
Confined under a tightly tucked bed cover.
All my thoughts begin to turn dark;
Am I imprisoned or is this shock.

Hiding among the shadow,
Is it friend or is it foe.

Strange whispers now make me whimper.
Though these whispers sound so familiar.
Now until tomorrow, I will lay here in fear;
When light of day will make them disappear.
