I'd like to take this A/N to say thank you to all you lovely people who are reading and leaving some amazing comments ;) I really love all you guys :) so you know, if I could dedicate this chapter to all of you, I would :D . . . Enjoy!!!! ~X~

Sherlock was practically speed walking to chemistry. John assured me that it was because Chem was his favourite lesson, in fact science in general was his favourite lesson.

I didn't think it was a good time to admit that I wasn't a fan of the subject. Everything made me nervous: chemicals, sharp equipment, fire, dissecting dead things that smelt . . . it all just made me cringe.

John continued to chat lightly to me about my old school in Austria where I told him some of our P.E lessons were spent on the ski slopes skiing, which he thought was really cool . . . then assured me there was no pun intended, making me laugh.

As we walked a boy shot past me, his blonde hair streaking in his dash. He stopped when he got to the next set of double doors and lent up against the wall.

"Come on Merlin!" He shouted back down the corridor, "You're so slow!" then he disappeared through the doors.

I cocked an eyebrow and watched as John turned to smile at a boy who came panting up beside us. He pushed his dark hair back and gave John a dopey kind of smile.

"Hi John, I meant to talk to you in form." He said in a recovering voice.

"Yeah but when I looked over Arthur was talking to you about his new manicure." John joked as Merlin laughed, his glassy eyes sparkling.

"Don't, he might hear you." Merlin whispered, still laughing.

"This is Rosie, by the way," John said gesturing to me and Merlin offered me another of his cute, dopey smiles.

"Nice to meet you. I was meant to say 'Hi' to you in form but I never got the chance." Merlin explained.

I shook my head, "It's fine, really. I was a bit preoccupied talking to Tessa and her friends." I said, "But you know, it's nice to be at a school where people actually want to talk to you." I admitted.

Merlin gave me a sympathetic look, "I know what you mean, I'm new here too, well I was new last year, but everyone here is so welcoming and nice so you feel at home really easily."

I smiled, "Yeah, I think I like it here already."

Merlin suddenly reached across me and flicked my ear.

"What was that for?" I yelped then paused when he held up a coin.

"You don't want that in your ear all day, you won't be able to hear us talking." He said cheekily, smiling so wide that it made me giggle even more.

"You do tricks?" I asked, "That's pretty cool."

"Glad you think so," He said, "Arthur thinks it's pretty lame."

"Maybe you need to put him in a box and saw him in half." I offered, trying to smile like him but feeling like the Cheshire Cat - which just felt weird.

John nudged Merlin's shoulder, "You could do it to Sherlock too."

Merlin snorted, "Yeah right, he'd probably blab about how I'd done the trick." He turned to me, "I tell you, I'd never have Sherlock Holmes as my assistant, he'd stand there on stage like, "It's up his sleeve" or "Oh really? You fell for that?" and then I'd be a ruined magician."

Suddenly Merlin flicked his wrists at me, two cards appearing between his fingers, the four and the five of hearts, then he flicked his wrists again, now showing me the four and the five of spades. I couldn't help but giggle, "That's really amazing, you know."

"Thanks." He said blushing slightly as we came to a stop outside a classroom where the rest of our class were crowded.

"Ah, Merlin!" The boy with blonde hair, who I assumed to be Arthur, came up to us, "I thought I'd lost you back there."

"No, you just ran off." Merlin said flatly and looking so unamused that I had to try and not laugh at him.

Arthur made a tutting noise then looked at me, "Oh you're the new girl aren't you?"

I nodded, "Yeah, I'm Rosie." I said with a small smile, still feeling nervous introducing myself to people in my class, especially boys who stood about a foot taller than me. Then again, I was small; what seemed like tall to me was probably just average height.

"I'm Arthur Pendragon," Arthur said.

"Otherwise known as Clotpole." Merlin muttered quietly beside me. I scrunched up my face to stop myself from laughing.

Arthur dismissed me and turned to Merlin, "If we have to work in partners, I'm working with you." Then he walked away and began talking to Will Herondale.

"He may seem like a heartless rat," Merlin said to me, "But underneath he really is just a heartless rat."

I gave Merlin a questioning look to which to smirked at, "I'm kidding, he's a good friend, and I'm sure if you have a problem he'll sort it out for you, especially if it's to do with people." Merlin assured me, "Arthur hates bullies."

"Doesn't everyone?" John asked as we began filing into class.

John walked me to the front of class to where our chemistry teacher was stood writing some kind of complicated formula on the board that made my head hurt.

"Mr Snape?" John said as the teacher stopped writing and looked down at John. He had long black hair pulled back into a loose bunch and a pair of plastic goggles perched on his head. His white lab coat made his hair look even darker.

I actually felt scared, I'd been waiting for a scary teacher to pop up somewhere in my day - I just hadn't thought it would be this soon.

"Watson, what is it?" Mr Snape asked a little too harshly. John seemed not to respond to this though, like it was normal for the teacher to talk to students that way.

"This is Rosie Walker, Sir. She's new to school." John explained. Snape turned his cold gaze onto me then flashed a quick smile as if to show me he was human before he returned to looking gloomy and scary.

"Very well, Miss Walker, how much chemistry have you studied at school before?"

I swallowed hard, "Ummm, well I know enough, I mean I'm no expert, Sir . . ."

Snape tutted, "Well, tell me what products I would get if I did a neutralisation reaction containing Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric acid?"

I stood wide eyes for a moment then, mind reeling said, "Calcium Chloride, water and Carbon Dioxide."

Snape nodded, "Good, how about the products I'd get if I heated Iron Oxide with Carbon?"

I thought, it's reduction reaction, so . . . "Iron and Carbon Dioxide."

Snape nodded, "Okay, fine," He turned back to the board; "Sit wherever you like then I'll see if you need to be moved later on."

"Thanks," I said weakly and walked away.

"Pretty impressive," John mumbled to me, "For someone who doesn't understand science."

"I thought I was going to die!" I muttered as John stopped behind a desk and kicked out the stool next to him.

Sherlock was sat across the room chatting to a guy with dark hair and another boy who looked slightly nervous.

"Right class!" Snape said turning round, lab coat flaring out to the sides dramatically, "Let's begin the lesson, shall we?"

Okay so for some random reason I want to do this chapter in two parts so you'll have to wait for a moment until I upload the next part haha :)

I'd also like to say that if I had Snape as my chemistry teacher I might die, because I'm pretty shocking at Chemistry and he'd probably pick on me all lesson asking me questions I didn't know the answer too :S and I'd love to be friends with John and Merlin :D school would be more awesome! Anyway I hope you enjoyed ~X~
