DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO SEMI-MATURE/TRAUMATIC SCENES!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Before our lips could brush, there was a hot pain in my stomach. I thought Ethan had shoved a knife in my stomach as it was causing so much pain.
"The baby," I groaned, clenching my stomach worriedly, "The baby."
My lip quivered as Ethan's eyes widened. "How far along are you?" He asked concernedly.
"Seven... months," I groaned. I knew that the gender reveal was late but I really didn't want to know the gender. Curiosity overtook me.
"Seven months?!" Ethan exclaimed, "B-but how?"
I felt the blood rush from my face. "Ohmigod Ethan call 911!" I practically yelled. He was freaking out more than me!
"Okay, okay," he mumbled.
I could hear him as he pressed the phone up to his ear.
"Yes we need an ambulance at 491 Parker Drive. My girlfriend is experiencing stomach pains. Yes, she's pregnant."
Girlfriend.
I don't know why, but that made me feel... calm? Like I knew he could protect me.
"Okay, Piper, what pains are you experiencing?" Ethan asked, his voice quivering. Geez Louis, he seemed so worked up.
"Um, it feels as if a knife is stabbing me. Over and over, again." I said, fumbling in the dark for a chair. Suddenly, I felt light headed.
"Okay, stay calm Piper, they're on their way," Ethan reassured me."That's good."
Ouch. That searing pain really stung, causing me to experience the 'hot white' vision or whatever is seen when there is a lot of pain.
My daughter.
"Dawson," I croaked. I was really thirsty right now.
"Yes, right, you're right I'll go get him," Ethan said before taking off sprinting.
Maybe if I walk and lay in the sand everything will be better?
I got up, and recklessly waddled towards the receding tide. The cool water tickled my toes. It was so soothing.
I decided to focus on the water as the ambulance made its way here. It was so blue even in the moonlight. I could see the stars reflecting, green streaks and red-Red.
Blood.
Immediately I reached my hand down in between my legs and felt a hot, sticky substance. It was almost as hot as the pains in my stomach.
My daughter.
"My baby," I cried, removing my hands. "My, my baby."
Tears rolled down my face as I clutched my stomach and sobbed. I didn't want to lose her after all of this time. Not after everything I've experienced.
"No no no no no!" I yelled, rocking back and forth in the water as it turned into a deep Crimson. The stars were gone.
It was pure blood.
"Ethan," I sobbed, "Ethan."
I heard footsteps behind me. "Don't let Dawson see," I demanded, my chin still quivering.
I heard Ethan politely make Dawson go onto the porch. Then he rushed back to my side.
"Oh my god- Piper?" Ethan asked, gripping my shoulders.
"Ethan, I think, I think I-I-I lost her!" I sobbed. My hands were still sticky and my stomach was now red since I was cradling it.
There was a faint sound of sirens.
"It's okay Piper, they're almost here," Ethan whispered, kissing my forehead.
*****
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Where am I?
I rolled over but was stopped as wires were attached to my wrists and arms. And a huge belly was in the way.
A doctor was standing over me, along with Heidi, Ethan, My dad and my mom!
"Mama!" I practically whispered, although it strained my voice. I couldn't speak.
Her eyes were puffy and her hair messy. "My baby," she cooed, rushing up to me and hugging me, "I thought we had lost you."
I hugged her back, silently praying that this moment would never end. "I missed you," I whispered.
My mom kissed my forehead, "I missed you too, honey."
On the other hand, my dad wiped his eyes. I glanced at everyone; Heidi looked tired, Ethan looked worried sick and my parents looked relieved. The doctor, however, looked like he had some important news.
"Ms. Earl? I have some news for you," He began, "It seems that the night you were experiencing pain, the pain was actually Braxton Hicks Contractions meaning they were not real. As for the great loss of blood, well, you and your baby are very lucky to be alive. But you have been ordered to bed rest until the scheduled due-date."
I wiped a happy tear. This week had been so eventful, and honestly, I could've done without the drama, but if it means I got all of the important people back, then it was well worth it.
"And when is my due date?" I asked.
The doctor fixed his collar. "Due to the events 48 hours ago, you are due at the most three weeks from now. Your daughter will be born in May."
Haha, plot twist. Well, sorta. Anyways, I hope I didn't scare you too badly if you did read this part. Sorry for interrupting their kiss by the way, it might happen *wink wink* no spoilers. And I know it was short but the next chapters will be better.
Wanna say six or seven left!!
