It's warm out today.
He's there, as usual. His brown hair is curly today. It's adorable. He doesn't look up, but that's okay. I definitely don't want him to see how I'm admiring him.
I light my cigarette. I didn't buy Lucky Strike this time, because I didn't have enough on me to afford them. Instead I have Mayfair, which is a cheaper, grosser brand. I wrinkle my nose as I inhale. Never buying these ones again.
As I look up from the ground to glance at the boy, he quickly turns his head away. Was he looking at me? The thought makes me blush. Did he possibly spend as much time thinking about me as I did him?
I scoff. No, that can't be. Jesus, I don't even know his name.
The wall behind me is warm under my back as me and him finish our cigarettes. I watch from the corner of my eye as he finishes his second one, stamps it out and heads inside. His gaze lingers on me and I feel myself blush again.
I head back inside, wondering if maybe I should talk to him next time we're out here.
