I was asked to write a piece entitled Temples of peace. and on any other day I may have written a more general piece, but this was the day of the Paris Bombings, which affected me personally.
The Poem/ prose
Are there Temples of Peace?
All around me I see Pain, Suffering, indifference and death
Empires built on the backs of the poor, the hungry and the destitute
The only temple that people seem to worship at is the temple of greed
of selfishness and hate.
~Yet there seems to be a glimmer of hope
As one man sings to calm the soul of another
The song spreads from person to person
Until, like a dam breaking this chorus spreads
Flooding the land with fellow feeling
Maybe there is still hope for mankind
Maybe we can still love
Are there temples of peace?
Only in the hearts of the unselfish
Only in the hearts of those loving peace
