"You have to eat, Benjamin." My mother berates. "You haven't eaten anything the whole day."
"I'm not hungry." I snap, irritated.
"You can't go into a hunger strike now just because Adam has left, Ben."
"Leave me alone, I'll eat when I'm hungry."
"It's been a month since he's gone, Ben. I know you're still sad, but you can't keep doing this to yourself." She says in a softer tone.
"Can you lay off my back, Mom? I'm just. Not. Hungry. Quit making this into a big deal. This has nothing to do with Adam."
But it does.
It has everything to do with Adam.
"I don't care what this is about," She huffs out. "I want this food eaten before you go to bed. That's an order, young man."
