Chapter 26

Rain's POV

I sat on my sofa, Edge curled by my side, I stroked his black and white fur and he purred in content.

The thought of seeing Zero again made my heart race. I really like him a lot and I just hope that's he ok. He's made me all worried.

I flick through the channels on the TV not really knowing what to actually watch since Zero seems to consume my mind.

There isn't anything interesting to watch so I turn the TV off and Edge jumps off the sofa running off somewhere.

There's a knock at the door, I look at what I'm wearing, a simple top and jeans. I fix my hair quickly and walk to the door and unlock it.

Zero stands there with his hands tucked into his pocket. Wearing the same beanie as last time, however he has black bags under his eye and his skin is paler than before. My stomach felt weird and my heart rate picked up.

I let him in locking the door and take him to the front room. I take a seat and he sits down next to me, his body slouched onto the sofa. He looks at me, his light green eyes look a bit red like he hasn't gotten much sleep which then explain the bags obviously. My heart jumps.

"Hey Rain" he says his voice soft

"Zero what happened"

He sighs and looks at his hands

"My sister died" he says

"I'm sorry" I say not knowing what to say and it sucked I never lost anyone close to me and I don't know how it feels but I can tell it hurts like hell

"Don't be sorry, she already knew she was going to die"

"What do you mean by she already knew"

"She had Leukaemia and she didn't have much time left" he says his voice sounded flat

I pulled him into a hug not knowing what else I could do. His body stiffens a bit, I know he doesn't like hugs but he needs one. He relaxes and slowly puts his arms around me, he hugs me tight and his body shakes. His head buries itself on my neck

I felt a tear drop. He was crying, broken in my arms. I let him cry, I rubbed his back and whispered soothing words into his ear.

He let's go and rubs his eye, sniffling his nose. He looks at me, beautiful was the thought that came to mind as he stared at me.

"God I didn't mean to cry on you, it's just I've been in the dumps and I lost my job and I hurt you by ignoring you and don't say I haven't because I know I have"

"Ok I'll be honest I'm hurt that you didn't talk to me but if I was in your shoes I would do the same, don't worry" I say

"But I hurt you, I told you I would hurt you before we met in person"

"I know you did, I just chose to ignore you and you invited me out" I say

"You're still wearing that necklace"

I look at the necklace he gave me, the panda hanged there.

"Well you gave it to me so I kept it on"

"I think I've figured you out now" he says a smile a real genuine smile on his face my heart rate danced

"Y-you have" I say stuttering my cheeks going pink

"Yeah your Rain, your a beautiful girl who's taken my heart, you love blue, eating macaroni, watching anime, love pandas, you have a cat called Edge, your hug made me feel warm, your always upbeat and smiling, god your smile is gorgeous. You seem to light up a room when you walk in your so damn special and you don't know it" he finishes

My heart races and the butterflies appear in my stomach again. I felt a smile making it's way to my face, that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.

"That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me" I say

His face goes red, he looks at his hands playing with his fingers.

"You know what I think I've figured you out as well" I say catching his attention

"You seem to have these walls built around you but once you break through you meet this gorgeous man, with lovely green eyes, who makes my heart race and makes me worry like hell at times but your a good person afraid to let people get close at times, you don't like hugs although you said you liked mine, your favourite colour is black and I think you've stolen my little old heart too"

He grins

"Well that's good then because I want to do something"

"Do what" I say raising an eyebrow

He grabs my wrist and pulls me closer and places his lips on mine. My heart races, and I just kind if froze because it surprised me, but then I felt my lips move.

We then pulled apart and he just starts laughing.

"Your adorable you know that" he says grinning

"Thanks" I say taking the compliment

"You know you never told me your last name" he says

"Oh it's Rain Holmes what's your last name"

"Zero Manson"

"I like it"

"I'm glad you do because I was just going to ask if you wanted to be Zero Manson's girlfriend" he says

"Oh let me think about that" I pause he looks nervous

"Of course I'd be your girlfriend" I say and hug him

He hugs me back kissing my shoulder and I can't help but thank the stars for bringing him to me.
