I belong in the mountains

But can only live in the city

When I run away I always

End up within its vicinity

Going in circles

Same path over and over

Missing the cover

Of the warm meadow

Tired from the cheat

Of this cold street.

I'll visit the mountains

I will only for a day

Or my lungs will protest

And my knees will give away

The sickness which settled

From the pollution I cradled

As my life's necessity

But I'll return to the mountains

Someday and lay there

To cry and die I swear.
