Being as old as I am I say that the best stories are written in the clouds. If you look close enough you can see stories of gods and men, great battles and the bold heroes that fought in them. Also of love won and lost, families brought together and torn apart. I've watched millions of people grow up and discover life's hardships, I've watched history written by those made immortal as their stories are passed through the generations. I've watched a world develop and grow through the centuries as new ideas are formed by those blessed with creativity. As the generations pass I've noticed that love and war are inevitable. I have stood by unnoticed, as man leaves his family behind to go to war, completely unaware that he will never come back.
As I stand by and watch history take its course, no one is aware that I am there. Yet I watch over these people and guide them to where they need to be when it is time for them to join the millions of others that have helped shape the world. This is my responsibility, this is the lonely life of a shadow.
