Expectations Vs Reality

Chapter 12- From Tomboy Geek To Sheek!

"Alright we want to turn you from tomboy geek to sheek! Let's do this" Ashley says while picking up a bunch of crop top sweaters, leggings, jeans, regular sweaters, crop top flannels and much much more. She pushes me into the dressing room and I slip on the first outfit which is a pink sweater crop top with a black floral skirt. I slowly walk out of the dressing room and Ashley's face lights up

"Oh my got, you look amazing!"

"Eh... I don't know if I feel comfortable wearing this"

"Do you want other guys to notice you?"

"No, not really-"

"We'll do you want to make Shawn jealous?" I nod

"Them you are gonna go back into that dressing room, try on all of those clothes and kick some ass!" She chants like a football captain and I laugh

"Break!" I reply like a football player while walking back into the dressing room.

"Alright, now that we've got clothes down, we need to focus on hair and then make up"

"But I don't have blue eyes like you do make up doesn't make them pop" I say and she scoffs

"Psh please, there are many things that will make your eyes pop, light eyeshadow, black eyeliner, mascara, you name it I got it" She says while stopping

"What is this place?"

"It's my aunts hair salon"

"Your aunt works in the mall? That's so cool!" I say and she chuckles and pulls me inside. We are greeted by a woman who looks just like Ashley just with green eyes instead of blue

"Hi aunt Stacy, this is the girl I was telling you about. Her name is Liv and she wants a change" Ashley says and the woman puts her hands in my hair

"Okay, so how about we give you some highlights, this way your hair will be a caramel color instead of this dull brown?" She asks and I nod

"Okay, I'm gonna do that and shape your bangs, you already look like a model dear" She says and I smile

"Thank you" I say and she chuckles

"No problem dear, go over there - she points to a lady with brown hair and blue tips- that's Kristen, she is gonna wash your hair and once she's done you can come and sit over here and we will get started" She says with a smile and I nod and walk over to Kristen

"Wow, I love it!" I say while stroking my fingers through my hair. Ashley's aunt Stacy did blonde highlights so my hair is now a Carmel color and since it's already waist length, she curled it and it looks amazing.

"Thank you so much, how much do I owe you" I ask while taking out my wallet but Stacy stops me

"It's on the house. Anything for my future niece, plus Ash tells me that your trying to make a guy jealous. A little piece of advice, you don't need to change who you are, your beautiful on the outside and the inside and nothing will change that. But since you wanna change your look, you gotta flaunt it honey, make all the guys want you and all the girls want to be you. That will make him jealous for sure" Stacy says with a smirk and I laugh

"Thank you so much" I say while hugging her and she smiles

"Like I said, it's no problem. Now go and make him see what he's missing" She says and I smile as Ashley pulls me out of the salon.

"Your aunts really awesome" I say and she smiles

"I know, she's only in her late twenties  so that's why she's so free spirited but I love her for it" She says with a chuckle and I smile

"I can't believe I am saying this but your actually not that bad" I say and she smiles

"Thanks, everyone thinks that I'm just some dumb slut but I am so much more than that. Behind the clothes, make up and attitude is a smart, nice and awesome girl if I do say so myself. Growing up, my mom was never really around, then after the divorce my father met Ariana and they got married. Unfortunately he passed away 3 years later and that's why I started acting like a bitch. I was miserable, my dad was my everything. My mom never came back, Ariana worked to take care of me so we lived with aunt Stacy and she watched me. And that brings us to today, so here we are, sworn enemies actually becoming sisters" She says with a tear falling down her face and I wipe it away

"Hey, don't cry. Like you said to me, We may have had our ups and downs but I'm here for you. You can vent out your feelings and I'll still be here to listen. I wish I would have had someone to talk to after my mom died" I say and she wipes away a tear

"Yes you did. You had Shawn" she says and I shake my head

"No not really, once mom died I shut out Shawn for basically a year but he understood that I needed time. But then once I became friends with him again things with my family got... Complicated. So... I started rebelling against my father and things got even more complicated. I only told Shawn what really went on in September-"I am cut off by my phone ringing

"It's my dad, hang on" I say and she nods. I press accept "Hello?"

"Olivia! Hello, I know that you are with Ashley so put me on speaker please" He says and I do exactly as he says and mouth to Ashley "He wants to talk to both of us" and she nods

"Alright dad your on speaker"

"Alright so me and Ari are having an engagement party, we decided to move the wedding to April so we have 5 months. You both can invite your friends, boyfriends, etc and their parents. The party is going to be next Friday so tell them tomorrow at school"  He says and we both smirk

"Alright dad, we will be home soon. See you later bye" I say while hanging up and Ashley squeals

"This is gonna be awesome!"
